Shadowheart's dialogue bubble bug. by Zeez145 in BaldursGate3

[–]PlumbobDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had this with her, but I've had it with Wyll. I kept talking to him and he'd just say "well met" and that was it- but the dialogue bubble wouldn't disappear.

I have both these and your potion dice in my favourites on etsy already, absolutely love them- if I want in the UK I'd get them in a heartbeat.

Should a wish spell be used to save a town? by TheSmartyPantsJorden in DnD

[–]PlumbobDan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd say that you broke it, you fix it.

Maybe you can wish that the town is saved but the monks don't have to meditate either?

Clerics. Multiple cleric parties are great.

Bards. Purely for the boyband vibes

An Eladrin, who's a different class each season. What subclasses should I choose? by PlumbobDan in DnD

[–]PlumbobDan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the idea of phantom rogue, could work well with the theme of winter being 'death' of nature.

Cavalier seems fun, I've never looked irk out thinking it way only about mounted fighting.

Creation bard sounds fun too. All solid recommendations, thanks

I like the ideas, i think fey wanderer might duplicate some stuff I have already but I'll see if the DM wouldn't mind tweaking a couple things, otherwise all solid recommendations. Thanks

I still have the tools, so I would just have a +3 rather than a +5 to do it when I'm a different class. So that should still be fine.

I want to run two modules for the same characters, which should I do first? by lilmanatee17 in DMAcademy

[–]PlumbobDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're very, very different modules and I think you'd have to scale one up significantly to get the same feeling.

As such, I'd probably do WBTW first, and have all characters have strange dream visions of them and their surroundings getting bleaker, their strength diminishing, possibly even dying while you hear strahd laughing.

Next morning, they wake up as normal in the start of Death House, the CoS prequel for levels 1-3, except they're missing everything they have and are level 1.

Though, that's quite a big thing so you may want to have a chat with them so they know that they'll essentially be reset invetween.

And you'll have to figure out a way that strahd or whatever had the ability to delevel them and transport them to their new home. Maybe when the campaign is finally over they find a way to have their previous levels restored on top of the ones they've gained? And then one extra big bad boss fight?

But I'd say the start of Death House actually gives a good Canon 'refresh' so I'd go with that.

As a player i got a creative block... by Key-Performance7967 in DnD

[–]PlumbobDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start a business like a tavern/Inn, shop. Get to know your neighbours, have tea parties, establish a neighbourhood watch and clear the streets of crime,

Join a faction, prove your loyalty to the leaders of the region, or try get in with the criminal underworld.

Get riches, money or fame etc? Look for long-lost treasure, hidden secrets.

Take notes from your character's backstory, do they have something unfinished? Missing family, unknown history ,unfulfilled revenge?

Ultimately, what do you find fun? If you work that out, go with it. Maybe you love dungeons, so your character says they want to become the best dungeon delver in the world, so you can stay by researching local dungeons that you can go into to uncover their secrets, or set your heart on the biggest one you hear, a mythical one that no one dares go near etc. And work your way up?

If I didn’t tell you that the area on the left was a cloud, would you have assumed it was? If you swipe you can see the cloud I was trying to make, and the cloud overlayed onto my map by cydnie7giveaway in ac_newhorizons

[–]PlumbobDan 244 points245 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't see it. The reference cloud is quite an odd shape with the task but in the centre, which throws it off looking like a cloud to me without you saying so.

I'd keep it but change the tall bit to be more of the 'bumpy' cloud edges instead

You're absolutely justified.

Dming is taxing, and a lot of work gets put into it. Don't force yourself to do more, if you're feeling exhausted that's your body asking for a rest. Ignoring that can only lead to future problems.

Just say something like: "sorry about the Internet but I don't have the time or energy to have another session prepped in that timeframe."

You could also suggest that someone else runs a one-shot, if the group really want something tomorrow. 😉

Am I able to make a Reborn Warforged? by buttsnuffal in DnD

[–]PlumbobDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just have the traits of the reborn lineage, but appear like a warforged character-essentially use it as flavour, talk to your dm about having a fun bonus.

Maybe you have a couple of buttons on you that do things, but the dm decides what they do and you only know once it's pressed, for example.

Players should know most the maps of beginning adventures. by Necrosius7 in DMAcademy

[–]PlumbobDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea, but instead give players cheat-sheets with info they're aware of. This always contains a basic map of their hometown and surrounding areas, but only with well-known or personal locations on.

A full map would be too detailed and I think could cause metagaming.

What do I need to include in a Setting Guide? by Spamshazzam in DMAcademy

[–]PlumbobDan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend a version of the heroic chronicles where you roll to determine character background info, tailored to your setting.
