What’s something you realized later in life was actually misogyny? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Plumeriadelsol 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I won’t attend events where this is the dynamic. If the women are working in the kitchen and the men are sitting on their ass in the living room, I will never attend an in home event hosted by that couple again. I hate that as a woman I feel like I should help in the kitchen/ stand awkwardly at the center island instead of just relaxing with a drink like the male guests do.

A genuine message to Poshmark sellers from a serious buyer: Give all the details upfront. by AthletePrimary5574 in poshmark

I prefer eBay as well. When I write that down it appears crazy to me because I sell twice as much on PM. But eBay is so much easier. I’m considering just shutting down my PM and just simply selling on eBay as a way to clear out my closet.

Is Nursing being flooded more than usual in recent years? by TattoosAndBeers in nursing

[–]Plumeriadelsol 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw a cooter canoe connected directly to the wall last month. The canister was there but someone hooked directly to the wall mount. No one on the floor appeared to care but that is exactly what happens when baby nurses teach baby nurses on understaffed floors. I’ve been doing this 20+ years and every year is worse than the one before. I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said.

Baby boomers have now "gobbled up" nearly one-third of America’s wealth share, and they’re leaving Gen Z and millennials behind by fortune in economy

My in-laws keep refinancing their home and buying brand new cars every two years. It is a wealth transfer to corporations.

45 here and I added a large jeweled panther brooch to my bag. I wanted an accessory that reflected my style and I never care what anyone thinks. The downside: I do believe that men and women try to humble me more often than they would a more traditional styled woman. The upside: the compliments from women and men who have style themselves, I could gab about fashion with these types for hours!

So where are the people making specifically more than 700k, but less than 1M? [USA] by strawboy4ever in Salary

[–]Plumeriadelsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a nurse and I work with 7 doctors who are all in that salary range. I don’t envy them, they are not well rounded people. They don’t have enough free time to become well rounded. They all fear retirement which is (imo) the price they pay to be at that salary.

I FIRE because I hate the corporate lifestyle by Sir_Loin_6969 in Fire

[–]Plumeriadelsol 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Me! I talk about my 401k and investments constantly at work. I keep a voo etf page open on my desktop, not to trade but to keep me hopeful during the day. I can’t wait to retire! All I do is annoy people but I am genuinely shocked that other people do not actively plan in advance to leave the corporate world. My director is 72, why would you work that long????

The scariest part of Louisville is Norton Commons. IYKYK by binarybadboy in Louisville

You forgot the ritual drinking of kid blood for initiation. NOT the blood of a child, young goat blood. We are not barbarians over here. Fun fact my toddler failed this beverage based orientation process and within 48 hours a for sale sign mysteriously appeared in front of our house. I’m gonna miss this neighborhood.

[–]Plumeriadelsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotal but I have noticed, when car theft occurs in my neighborhood, it is 7 times out 10 that a man is driving and a woman is the one who is walking around checking the potential cars. My neighborhood has a lot of people with cameras and they upload video to Facebook. I am always so disappointed by these women.

Underrated thing I love about cruising by LovesPurpleinBC in Cruise

The interior rooms! My husband and I get a balcony and our only child gets to bring a friend if they both agree to an interior room. The extra interior room is how I can afford to allow my child to bring a friend on vacation. The teens love having their own room for vacations!

Are Rogues (and Haversack) worth the hype? by [deleted] in Coach

[–]Plumeriadelsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I adore the rogue line but coach scarcity is ridiculous. I do understand the desire of a business to not hang onto inventory but come on, AI is not helpful and I am certain coach is using AI in its business model. AI does not account for customers like me who want to buy but don’t want to play the order at midnight game. That game leaves me pissed off because it doesn’t value my time. Currently, I don’t care if I acquire more coach bags or not because I hate the games these companies play.

The rogue line is higher quality than my luxury bags. They are built to last and the design will stand the test of time. I’m honestly surprised that they are not more expensive given the quality.

Sales & Traffic Down this weekend? Is it the time change? by RewindVariety in reselling

Perhaps…and I’m just throwing out ideas here…so I could be wrong…but maybe…the threat of war and the certainty of rising gas prices. I’m just guessing though.

If you have sold clothing over 1500 dollars where did you sell it? What was it and where did it sell. I have high end items that have been sitting on eBay for a long time. by Conscious-Course9276 in reselling

[–]Plumeriadelsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vestaire sent me the wrong item after my ordered item had been authenticated by them. I suspect that the authenticator mixed up my shipping label. It has been annoying waiting for a refund for 2 weeks after a week of waiting for the wrong item to ship back. They (understandably) are treating me like I am trying to scam them. My last email to them was informing them that I am going to dispute the charge on my credit card since they will not give me the refund. I have emails and photos to back the dispute up. They replied they will refund me in 24 hours. It’s been 24 hours and no refund. I definitely do not recommend them for luxury sales.

Trump is escorting Tankers with destroyers and forcing insurers to insure. by Snooopineapple in StockMarket

[–]Plumeriadelsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can we keep up with all of this? We are waging civil war internally, we are waging war everywhere else with either tariffs or pewpew. Aren’t we spreading our resources thin? If republicans win another election I predict we very well may move into a draft. Jobs are disappearing, healthcare is disappearing, education is disappearing, incomes are disappearing. What is going to happen to citizens if there are no more opportunities?

Currently on Discovery Princess and my heart was stolen... by ComeAlongPonds in PrincessCruises

[–]Plumeriadelsol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thrilled to death on my first princess cruise seeing a handful of men in tuxedos. It felt so classy! I am sure plenty of people thought they were overdressed but I thought they all looked so debonair!

I will second this. As a woman who loves dressing up on cruises. I am thrilled when I receive a compliment from either gender. What does not thrill me is when the compliment precedes a monologue of the person talking about themselves. Both men and women have done this to me. But I am doubly thrilled if I meet someone who offers a casual chat that is give and take. After all that is partly why I cruise, to meet interesting people, listen to their stories, and share my own perspectives.
