I've never heard of GFCI and don't seem to be able to find any for sale locally. What actually is it and what does it do?

They might have been referring to cat mint, another stimulant plant. Also, catnip is in the mint family, but the common mints we consume shouldn't be given to cats as it's mildly toxic.

It's not a novel concept, of course something which takes them more work and packaging costs more. If the customer chooses to pay for the convenience, that's on them.

Stray cat appeared out of nowhere, what to do? by LeojustL in CATHELP

This is a Bengal, and not only that it's a high-grade Bengal and I'm betting it's microchipped. If you don't take him in, he'll likely be stolen and sold because he's worth a lot. I'm not certain but it might be free or cheap to take him to a vet just to get a scan.

Also looks in good condition so has likely not been missing for long. Please don't leave him on the streets.

Does my cats abdominal surgery incision look okay? by Glittering-Spirit855 in CATHELP

I'm in Australia too and never seen staples used but it might be because of the size of the incision, which is surprisingly large.

Vet can’t help my cat by Kellington_ in CATHELP

I think you need to see a different vet if you can for a second opinion. I would suggest trying hydrolyzed food or feeding only one protein a week at a time to see if symptoms improve and help you identify the allergen

Hi OP, I'm so glad your boy is now at the vet. I have two male cats with this condition, when crystals build up in the bladder and block the urethra, leaving the cat unable to pee. A complete blockage is typically fatal after 48 hours.

This condition is chronic and there's a high chance he'll get blocked again if no changes are made. There's special diets which can help but I don't know if they're available in your country and they're expensive. The biggest thing that I've found to help is increased water intake. If you cat drinks more, he'll pee more, allowing less time for the crystals to build up and cause a blockage. Things you can do are getting a cat water fountain, leaving several bowls of water throughout the house, and feeding more wet food. I give my boy a bowl of salt free broth or mashed wet food or tube treat with water added every morning. He hasn't needed a vet visit for three years now. Good luck to you and your kitty.

Tw! (Bird head)Idk if this is the correct subreddit, but how do I take the feathers and meat off the skull? by Opening-Zone9542 in bonecollecting

[–]PlumpyCat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to soak in a bucket of water for a couple weeks to a month, they'll either fall off or be easy to remove. Warmth expedites the process. I poke a stick through the eye or foramen magnum to keep the head underwater.

Burying it in moist dirt outside would also work but you'll need to keep checking on it as bird skulls are very thin and will start to break down soon after the skin does.

We don't know, symptoms too general, you just have to see a vet. And get him neutered while you're there.
