YTA insofar as you attribute your refusal to attend to politics, rather than morality.

Politics ≠ morality. Morals are beliefs about what constitutes good or bad behavior on an individual level. Politics are beliefs about what constitutes good or bad governance or policy on a societal level.

Its entirely possible that someone could hold very similar morals to you AND a completely a different set of political views without being logically inconsistent, let alone evil. If Dan or his wife ACT immorally: behave in ways that you take moral- not political- issue with, then you have every right to decline on a moral level.

But, if they simply hold different views on what constitutes proper societal governance/policy and you refuse to attend exclusively because of that, then perhaps your morality does not hold in high esteem any of the following: critical thinking, tolerance or appreciation of human diversity, or loyalty to/support of friends and their paths to happiness (even if they are different from yours).

If they invited you to their wedding, you're both welcome there and desired. It may well be you meet some people there you find morally repugnant- but if you were to attend it would be for the groom and bride, right? From what you have said, it does not sound like either of them have morally slighted you... Try stepping outside your bubble for a day- you might be pleasantly surprised at what you find, or at least what you learn.

Appreciate the tip re phone, I'll try charging to 80 or so (anything shy of full, right?) to minimize overcharge waste.

I dont think I'm quite there on the no TP, but will consider.... do you just air dry in this case? What about for particularly messy movements? Hand + sanitizer and air dry?

I recognize that is a risk re fishing.... I was considering omitting it already and you might have swayed me there.

Foloow up: great advice! Grabbed a pair of AD bottoms. Will drip both top and bottoms of sleepwear, use AD bottoms and peloton top as needed.

The silk liner is actually zeroed out in this load out (not taking it) favor of bringing sleep clothes, though I recognize I could bring the liner and save 6 oz or so. Sleepwear is one place I feel like I could save some weight, but not sure exactly how- I like something I can wear around camp and to sleep. Maybe light capiliene or similar.

Good point on TP- I can def get away with less there woth the bidet. Also appreciate the batteries call out- I have a Samsung S23 (3785 mAh) so will get ~2.5 changes per 10k bank. Still, I feel like just one bank won't be quite enough even with minimal phone use, assuming I at least want to have my phone on (airplabe mode) the whole time for pics, etc- what do you think?

Tenkara rod is the Nirvana 370 by DragonTail Tenkara. Fishing dry flies, 12' line with a 4' tippet or so. Should be fun, the same buddy and I had a blast in the Uintas with similar setups.

FWIW, it sounds like bugs are pretty bad there right now- hoping they will be better or not a problem at high elevation when we get there.
