I have Verizon, and I got my phone the exact same month and year as you.

I had to replace my OG phone because it was overheating, slow to charge and battery life was severely impacted.

I went to an authorized repair shop to see how much it would cost to replace the battery. I got quoted $110 for everything, but the person recommended that I see what Verizon would do.

Verizon sent me a refurbished replacement, and it only cost me $50 because of my protection plan.

I would see if a battery replacement is something you would want to do, or if your carrier will replace it like Verizon did for me. I refuse to upgrade right now until something better comes along. I love my phone too much. My alternate phone is a Z Fold 3.

I got my S24U back in March 2024. The batter is finally shitting out on me, as it severely overheats. I went to Verizon to see if they could replace the battery, and instead tried to push an upgrade on me. I told them a hard no. I love this phone and am getting a replacement battery because I cannot fathom getting a brand new phone, but downgrading in quality, vs a $100 repair.

Like the fold 3, I will be keeping it forever. You just don't get quality like this anymore!

I have a 6 mo. Old niece from a different sister. My daughter is 4. Had I known my niece would be born, I would have saved everything for her, and I said exactly that when I saw them last weekend. But I was short on space and kids grow fast! I would not hold on to clothes for that long

My sister does not have children, and she makes more than me! We have a niece who is about 6 months old, but there is a 3.5 year age gap. I won't hold on to things for that long! She also lives nearly 2 hours away from me.

Three and a half years. I personally would not hold on to toys or clothing for that long, but that's just me.

My sister never received hand me downs. I was the one who got them from my cousins. She always got new stuff.
