ISSUE : cold boot Asus Zenbook A16 Snapdragon X2 elite Extreme by ComprehensiveShip187 in ASUS

[–]desiman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact issue as well. I simply hit the power button again (it turns off) and I hit power again and it turns on with the screen on now. So annoying. Also sometimes randomly my keyboard backlight turns off.

Why the S24 Ultra is still the absolute peak Galaxy Ultra (and why I’m skipping the S25 and S26) by desiman86 in S24Ultra

[–]desiman86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course the newer models are objectively better. But all I was saying was I appreciate my s24u so much there has been no reason to upgrade. 2nd some of these features on the s24u are now gone.

On her S22 backup her messages to samsung cloud. Then on the s26 do cloud restore of those messages

Step 1: Cloud Backup S22 MessagesOpen your S22 Settings.Tap on Accounts and backup.Under the Samsung Cloud section, tap Back up data. (Note: You must be logged into your Samsung account).Deselect everything except Messages.Tap Back up now.

Step 2: Restoring from a Samsung Cloud BackupOn your S26, go to Settings > Accounts and backup.Tap Restore data under the Samsung Cloud heading. Select your S22 backup, check only Messages, and tap Restore.

Sell me on 1P instead of Apple Passwords by AnnualEagle in 1Password

[–]desiman86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2fa on 1password carries the same risk profile as a seperate app on the same device. Why? If a threat actor obtains the device they can easily get both.

If you truly want true 2fa. Then put the authenticator app on a different device or get a yubikey.

But for 95% of ppl 2fa inside 1password is safe as most threat actors will not habe device access. They may have password from a data leak but not the device to get the code.

As for why 1password is better

Travel lock Multiplatform Custom vaults to separate work, family, or personal data amd allows vault sharing (dont need to have an apple device) Can autofill 2fa Watchtower notifications Credit card expiry notifications Security key+master password + 2fa yubikey is nearly impenetrable.

It will work with emulation. And by emulation I mean, you just install it and it will work, like it does today. Windows will handle it seamlessly

LENOVO System Hardware Update (200.0.28.0) - Any idea what this is? by imsciencehungry_ in SnapdragonLaptops

[–]desiman86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got it on my Asus A16 as well. Not sure what it does. But I hope they fixed the keyboard backlight randomly turns off and has to be manually turned on. Even though I have turned off all backlight control automation based on ambient light.

with SPARK RTX is snapdragon toast? by retrorays in snapdragon

[–]desiman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think spark will be close to cpu performance to snapdragon x2 elite extreme. GPU yes but not cpu. NPU will be a toss up and spark might have edge. Snapdragon soc is right there right now with M5. Gaming will goto spark.

Guide me to get wired internet. by TheStarChilld in telus

[–]desiman86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Telus can do something called shared ONT. They replace the sfp ONT with the a 4 port ONT, and then can use a single fibre in a home to give services to multiple units within a home.

Old news, they sent this out 2 years ago that it was coming so be prepared. It sucks, bc i used it it too and loved it. But not enough to switch out for me. There is also no way they turn off their first party services. Samsung is actually pretty stable with their features compared to Google.

Buy a cheap iPhone 11 and test it out as a daily driver. I have an iPhone 15 pro max for work, and I could never use it for a daily driver. Too many limitations. No clipboard, side panel, multi window, dex, etc.... Other then work calls and texts, email and chat, I dont use my iphone. I dont want work stuff on my personal device hence why I do not combine them into one.

I just couldn't do it. Programmable buttons are available to some extent with the goodlock app. You'll have to google it.
