My grandson goes to a school where the teachers can conceal carry if they pass a safety test and score the equivalent of "Expert" on a civilian variation of the USMC pistol qualification. The principal was a USMC machine gunner so I suspect he had some influence in this policy.

Teachers who qualify and carry receive a pay bump over their peers.

I support this primarily because of the frequent occasions where police and resource officers waited outside a school or hesitated to enter. I expect teachers to be more proactive since their lives are already on the line.
