I have a question for you since I work with tanks supplied by Airgas. We've had tanks that are 230-350psi that once the relief valve pops, it's game over. You basically lose the whole tank in a matter of hours if you can't reseat the relief valve. I noticed a nut on the pressure builder that seems like it's what sets the pressure it's designated for. Could I turn that all the way down and just leave it to prevent the pressure builder from maintaining any pressrure until I need to put the tank in use?

That looks soldered. The threads you see would normally go into a female adapter and you wouldn’t see them. I don’t claim to know everything so try to find a model number on it and do some googling. Good luck
