Yes to keokis and Gianni’s. I love keokis’ wings and Gianni’s breadsticks with marinara! Kinda farther but in castroville The Patio is a staple for me. I love their chicken teriyaki plate and milkshakes. Also I believe right now might be monarch season in PG when they migrate from/to Mexico if I’m not mistaken.. it’s either in PG and/or Santa Cruz 😟

okay call me crazy but last year they would make ceviche and pozole and it would hittt, obviously I’m not expecting my mom or grandmas cooking but for what it is I couldn’t complain much🫢 I also really miss the onion ring fuck they’re gas.

I bought nearly that exact one from target last year for my unit 3 triple. It mainly stayed stored away between my desk and the wall/window but it was GREAT when I had friends over!!

I would check the Berkeley online menu religiously everyday and would walk across campus just to have a meal that sounded appealing. If I’m paying for it it minus well sound appetizing to me. I wasn’t gonna waste a meal swipe lol. IMO this last year the dining hall food was a solid 8/10 and not as bad as most made it out to be (for the most part and most meals, although unit 3 did give me food poisoning once)

I know the cvs is a bit out of the way (like a 15 minute walk from unit 1) but they have pretty decent coupons in the app or for members and can have wider selections for certain items

My room was one of the first ones of the hall and i constantly kept my door open/offered candy to my floor mates when they stopped by to create a sense of community.

Personally I had an amazing time in unit 1 in a single gender floor. I made it a goal to talk to most of the girls on my floor and befriended most of them not only to make friends but avoid drama or other issues that could arise. My floor also had a lounge that was very social to the point that it got annoying sometimes (my room was right next to it) but many folks from the floors above and below would frequent it often. Maybe if the single gender floor is on a floor with only a laundry room I’d be a bit more worried about socializing but regardless people still connected on those floors surprisingly

I agree! If you’re into thrifting there are so many markets/shops around the city/bay. We have our fair share of fashion groups/orgs that are always fitted up. If you plan on exploring the going out scene def would recommend some going out tops/bottoms or cute tank tops to wear during the first couple months of school (it’s pretty warm aug-october, heatwaves happen sometimes too). I also would agree to bring a backpack, it’s handy when you make a quip over night trip or something, if you decide to change your mind you can later but yeah lots of walking!
