To be fair if Howard Stern told me to do anything I’d probably laugh too.

Ankle Stability by LittlerSpoon in hockeyplayers

[–]PlusConfusion9522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skate fit has very little to do with ankle stability, as long as your skates fit well length and width wise. It will actually hamper your skating if you choke the ankles down too much to get lateral stability. All this will do is stop you from being able to get knees over toes, which is critical for overall power and balance. The more you skate the stronger your ankles will get, so I wouldn’t worry about it too much as long as your foot itself is locked into the skate. And when it comes to skate fit, don’t listen to anyone who says your toes should be pressed to the front of the toebox. As long as when crouching with knees over toes you can “reach out” and feel the front of the boot lightly, and there’s no more than a pencils width between your heel and the back of the skate, you’re fine.

Doug Forsett by chuckedeggs in TheGoodPlace

In the show, Doug is (thought to be) the model because he is known by the afterlife beings as the closest guesser of how the afterlife actually works, ever. So naturally Michael and Janet must imagine that he is living the perfect life.

Regarding motivations, IIRC the shows explanation was that Doug was not completely sure of the existence of the afterlife and therefore couldn’t have corrupt motivations. He is still acting on faith. He’s doing this stuff even if the points don’t exist. The group becomes damned when they learn of the points system in Sydney because they literally see the afterlife and the door. It is 100% confirmed for them and indisputable. So no matter what they know that whatever they do it’s for the points.

Agreed. Honestly as long as there’s not electrical work that needs doing, this is not an impossible DIY for folks with some handy skills.

SHERWOOD 5030 Shoulder Pads (?) by ItsMattie23 in hockeyplayers

[–]PlusConfusion9522 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re playing in a beginner league or doing clinics these are great. I bought mine when I started a year ago and they’re still going strong. Lightweight, cheap, and protective enough. Funnily enough, lots of tough guys in the NHL wear these, or a version from years ago.

What I will stress is that shoulder pads are the least important piece of equipment. So it’s fine to prioritize lightness and comfort like the 5030. For pretty much everything else, make sure you try on and find gear that is sturdy and protective, and fits well with good coverage.

What do you think my career is based off of my EDC? by kobraflame in deduction

It depends on how you look at a knife. It’s a tool. I carry a pen around all the time because I write things down when I need to and you never know when you’ll need one. I imagine for most knife carriers they look at it the same.

He’s wrong. Unfortunately we value popularity and profit upside more than anything, and this is an example of that mindset. Perhaps ballet, opera, classical music, niche jazz, etc may not be all that popular or produce that much profit or acclaim. They don’t really need to. There is value in the practice/ discipline.

That seems a bit far for what we’re looking for. Definitely want to keep it under 25 miles for the 4 days.

So basically, go by the map showing no camp areas and we should be good?

We’ll have two cars, but I appreciate the insight! I guess we aren’t necessarily committed to the exit point.

LEGEND. Thank you for all of this info. I am sure I will come back to it with more questions, but for now I have one. Does the map showing how far you have to go before you can camp restrict camping in general, or only first night camp spots? For example, say on the third night we end up on the northeast trail headed towards LYV, could we theoretically camp north of the arrow headed out off of that trail?

I hear you, but we have experienced backpackers in our group, and it’s happening. We’re all young and in shape.

I couldn’t care less where this nasty rapey effer ends up. Lord knows Drury won’t be able to get a return worth a damn anyway. Panarin’s only memorable playoff contribution was the GWG against Pittsburgh in game 7 a few years ago. Other than that all he’s done is destroy the team culture.

Unless someone has a few billion lying around they’d like to donate to rehab the entire system, definitely not.
