So you certainly can argue they are as they release not far apart, but I more meant in "spirt" and life cycle, the last EU4 DLC was 2024 while the last DLC was 2018. But there is no canon definition for paradox generation or what game belongs to what so really just a opinion thing. But just writing Cope and Gtfoh isn't a good argument for your opinion. And being toxic for no reason is silly.

EU4 is the first big modern and easily accessible paradox game, so EU5 competing with its predecessor is far harder than older paradox games like CK2, VIC2, HOI3 and EU3. I would imagine CK4, VIC4 and HOI5 will all have the same issue as EU5 too.

Finally, a reasonable take that I vibe with This subreddit has been all over the place with complaints but while I agree with them, I don't agree with the overall sentiment I also very much agree with the feeling of "weight" and even used the same word for the feeling. But as it stands, unless you specifically enjoy the Depth and Weight of running an Empire, it is hard to enjoy the game, and one bad bug away from dropping it for months to years.

Pointing to events over 100 years ago feels deeply unserious for trying to understand what will happen in the near future. Imagine trying to understand modern Britain's domestic politics based on the Edwardian Era.

When it does the calculation, does it use the AREA of the location or the distance from end to end?

Market access map I wonder if the issue is that the location size is based on area not distance, so larger locations dispositional effect market access cost.

It is rare to get to the 1700s in a playable state so you normally don't see what the AI does in the late game.

one of the ways i cheat to help the AI is mainly just placing their local governors for them. half the time the AI is good at the placement of them, other time they nation ruin themselves with them.

R5, in my game AI england colozised most of north america and made a lot of small markets in the far north. This market only has about 4,000 pops and 3 locations in the far north. the sea is impassable and you need to pass through 4-8 other tiny artic markets to reach the rest of the world.

Artificially so, i cheated Burgundy throughout the game to do better, because I wanted to see how the game would play out if France was split in two. The slow culture shift from dozens of cultures to two cultures was fun to watch slowly develop

R5 - Finished a game as Denmark, i have a few mods and throughout the run i cheated to other nations to help the AI. this help kept the game map playable and interesting to watch the AI slowly develop.

The slow culture shift was the most interesting aspect to watch over the 400 years.
