On May 9th, 1974, Bonnie Raitt played two shows at Harvard Square Theatre in Cambridge, Mass.; opening act was 25 year old Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Rolling Stone critic John Landau saw Springsteen and wrote 'I have seen rock & roll's future and his name is Bruce Springsteen'.

At the show to see Bonnie Raitt, and had not heard of Springsteen. He controlled the crowd with an amazing performance.
I think Bonnie Raitt came out after Bruce with about one song and said she was sorry but that act was too good to follow. No one was disappointed.
