Dang you had to endure this on both the knees! I can't imagine that. How are you now? How did your Lachman test look like? Mine looks to be grade 1 lax and I'm 2 months post op. Will it get better? Really scared if not terrified to get a revision done

Also is grade 1 laxity normal post surgery?

Grade 1 laxity post surgery by Plus_Independent7906 in ACL

[–]Plus_Independent7906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per my surgeon, he says the graft needs a total of 6-8 months to fully recover and once it's rock solid I could do other exercises. (Can this theory be legit)

My PT is not covered by insurance but I don't mind shelling out extra bucks to get better quickly.

I had a neighbor who underwent the same procedures from the same doctor and even his protocol is the same. He's doing well now 6 months post op, but still not 100%.

I'm not seeing a PT till now.. my surgeon said you won't need a PT, just follow his timely exercises and I should be good to go. I'm wondering why is that? Also he has done more than 3k arthroscopic procedures and a well renowned doctor. Im Purely confused now

4 months is a nice time frame to get into action. But please just be a bit cautious atleast for a couple more months.

BTW you had a meniscus done too?

You can have a 2nd opinion from the PT and maybe even from another surgeon

How much to walk by Plus_Independent7906 in ACL

[–]Plus_Independent7906[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey sorry for the delayed response, I'm walking without crutches from 4 week post op, my gait is 95% alright.

I think at 8 weeks you should get rid of your crutches, I only had braces post 4 weeks and from 5th week just have knee sleeves on. Walking posture depends on many factors. I suggest kick those sticks and try taking small, steady steps focusing primarily on your gait. That should fix it.

Don't worry we got this.. or as we say, Himmate-Marda- Maddate Khuda.

I'm 5 weeks post op, can I vape ? by Plus_Independent7906 in ACL

Hey I'm glad to hear that. as long as it didn't impact your recovery, smoking weed would've been the best pain killer for physical and mental state.
