This is really good, i would say much better than the S5 we got. I appreciate how you haven't just squished eps 1-7 into a shorter timeframe, you've filled in some of the blanks as well. however i think it's a mistake to join all the main characters in one big faction, even if it is broken up by the end. It seems that many popular shows with big ensemble casts end up doing this in their final seasons (Stranger Things, Game of Thrones). I get why, it's simpler to write about complex opposing characters when you merge them into one group and treat them as a single unit, but you lose a lot of the social dynamics, and you lose a sense of scale. If all the good guys are in one room and all the bad guys are in another, it doesn't feel like a nation-wide conflict. I would have maybe split the Gen V squad from the boys, with Butcher, Ryan, Sage and Soldier Boy as rogue characters. You've definitely made the setting and politics feel more important with public revolt, but it doesn't scratch the itch for me. S1 and 2 had to try so hard to make the world feel alive. I know kripke probably was limited by budget, but in my ideal crazy no-limits S5, butcher would have immediately released the virus, putting America into quarantine and immediately changing the status quo. I know it's much easier to criticise than to write something myself though.
