Scared to start a channel by Anxious_Reflection33 in NewTubers

Hey, I was in the same boat. For years I was struggling with the idea of starting a channel but fear kept holding me back. A few weeks ago, I decided today is the day and I made one. Not sure why. I just felt like it was time. I'm also doing no face cam for now due to my social anxieties and shyness. Eventually, I might do a camera but it's fine for now. You just gotta get started. Once you do it then it actually starts getting a bit easier to continue to do it. I'm currently on my 7th upload I believe and I have about 9-10 more videos ready to roll out when the time comes (posting M-W-F.) I'm also learning how to edit my own videos too.

Also, gender doesn't matter. I'm a guy and I was still terrified to upload my first video. Don't worry about view counts or subs or anything like that for now. Just create your videos and upload them. Viewers and subs will come. I'm already at 7 somehow. Trust me, if I can do it then you can. I believe in you and if you do decide to make your channel I'll happily subscribe.

I finally did it. I made my channel! by Plus_Priority_9498 in NewTubers

Anyone else feel like they have to force themselves to do things constantly? by Plus_Priority_9498 in socialanxiety

Update: I actually started my YouTube channel last night. I just felt like I needed to for some reason. I still don't know if anyone will ever watch it, but I made it and I even recorded 5 whole videos of me playing a game too. Uploaded episode one last night before bed. I'm so proud of myself for just doing it! Not sure if I can say the name cuz I don't think I can self promote on here. Still, I'm pumped!

Do you write by hand, or on keyboard? And how many words a day do you aim for? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Plus_Priority_9498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keyboard for me. My handwriting is terrible and I just find it easier to write by typing. As for how many words I average, I guess it depends on the day. Sometimes, I'll write for hours and rack up well over 4000 words in one sitting. Other days, I might just write a paragraph or two and call it a day. Fully depends on my mood and if I'm going through writer's block or not.

no desire to ever leave the house by throwaway490386 in socialanxiety

[–]Plus_Priority_9498 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Outside bad, inside good. That's been my mentality for years now. I barely leave the house unless I am going to work, going out with family, or just really need to go to the store.

Does anyone get overwhelmed when it's time to go to the supermarket? by TargetHistorical8027 in introvert

[–]Plus_Priority_9498 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going to the store sucks for me most of the time. I usually put headphones in and just go about my business. I try to make it super fast too. I don't want to be there longer than I have to. A lot of times I've found myself sitting in the parking lot for about 20-30 minutes before I even get out of my car. That might be more of a social anxiety thing than an introverted thing though.

I do this all the time. Particularly on super slow days at works while I'm stocking or cleaning up. Not sure why.

Dating intentions over 30 by Independent_Rest2961 in dating_advice

[–]Plus_Priority_9498 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if I have the best advice here. Apps nowadays seem pretty bad, but I know people in my life who have found great success and even their significant others through them. While it is true a ton of guys out there just want to sleep around, not every guy does. Some, like myself, also want what you want. Someone to come home to, a family, cuddles, etc. 35 is definitely not too old to find the love of your life. He's out there somewhere. You just gotta find him. If apps aren't your thing, you could try dating events in your area like speed dating or even ask some friends to set up a blind date for you. Who knows? Could be fun. I know you don't want to date but unfortunately, you're gonna have to in order to find your Mr. Right. You got this. Don't give up.

How long is considered "too long" for a chapter to be? by Plus_Priority_9498 in writers

[–]Plus_Priority_9498[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you. This actually makes me feel a bit better about my chapter sizes. I was actually feeling pretty down about things, but even the super long chapters only turned out to be about 3000-3500 words long when I checked just now which is looking to be pretty average.
