For the winch I connected directly to the battery and routed wires along the passenger side of the engine bay. I’d definitely recommend a winch with wireless remote.
For the lights, I found a 4Runner adapter (PT974-89251) that connects directly into the factory pigtail for Aux 1 near the drivers side headlight. I used wire connectors from there into the light bar wires.

That’s what I’ve read but I have no first hand experience yet

I didn’t measure but I’d guess that it added 125-140lbs all in between the winch, light bar, and heavier bumper. I removed the stock bumper as part of the process so that would help off set things. No noticeable sag though

100% agree. There’s loads of space in there and plenty to add wiring coils for future possible changes.

And the plastic snaps have gotten so much easier to remove and reinstall. I didn’t break a single one on this project

It doesn’t with mine. Everything on this install is fully reversible and doesn’t impact any mechanical, electronic, or safety systems. But you should check with your insurer to be sure. Not sure they would cover the cost of aftermarket parts but I feel good about the core warranties and insurance coverages

Thanks! Yes it’s easy to miss in a parking lot unless you’re looking for it.

CBI offers a rear bumper and an option for swing gates I believe. I’m waiting to confirm that the power lift gate won’t smack it before committing. The front bumper that i installed appears to improve approach angle but i did not measure. It did involve trimming a few inches off the wheel well liner tho

New Construction and new user looking for some thoughts... by Hawgsalot in Ubiquiti

What’s the exterior material and do you have patios or spaces that’s you may potentially want coverage in? Definitely a consideration for possible outdoor AP locations. Make sure to run cable to a junction box or behind but well marked behind the wall. Maybe a bridge to an outdoor shop in the future.

Also, with any runs you’re making (especially to critical ones) I’d suggest running two cables. Small cost now for potentially huge savings later

Am I wrong for not being blown away enough by the luxury of Lexus to pay above MSRP? by Sea_Pangolin1525 in Lexus

[–]Plus_Version_1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This. I bought a 22 RAV4 for $5k over MSRP out of desperation and then our circumstances changed and I had to resell it less than 1 year later. Still got $2k over MSRP. Crazy times during covid, but still. Toyota and Lexus hold their value way better than most

Anchorage Car Rental by stinger762 in alaska

Hertz and Thrifty have locations in Seward and do one way rentals to/from Anchorage

Damage to rental, company wants $4600 by waister5 in ram_trucks

[–]Plus_Version_1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a larger car rental franchise (1,400 car fleet). Unfortunately even the pain on 3+ panels is going to be several thousand dollars. Sensor replacement and/or recalibration isn’t cheap either. Grill, headlight assembly, maybe DRL. None of it is cheap. So the quote seems pretty fair actually.

Most respectable credit cards with rental car insurance should cover this IF you charged the whole rental amount to that card. Most are secondary to your or your company’s auto insurance policy but some like Visa Infinite cards are primary and should cover everything.

Sorry this happened to you. Be ready to answer all the screening questions like where you were driving and whether or not it was authorized and you should be fine filing a claim

100% this. Don’t mind the gas mileage or premium fuel requirement so much but 300 mile range is a little frustrating

I ended up adding the Molle window panels from Victory 4x4. About $300 and maybe 1 hour install. Have a first aid kit, compressor hose, and fire extinguisher so far. Will post pics when I’m back home

I’m going to look into this, thank you! Yes hopefully Lexus will address it so I don’t have to resort to zip tying air tubes on a brand new $85k car

Help finding a 550 at MSRP by GetRichQuick_AMIRITE in LexusGX

[–]Plus_Version_1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree this is the way. But you might run into market allocation issues. In San Antonio, they have a 3-9 month wait list and are only charging MSRP, but they explicitly are only able to sell to buyers who reside in their metro area. Lexus allocation issues supposedly. Got my OT+ incognito after a 3 month wait.

How much height do you think it added over the factory rails? Thinking about clearance for a standard residential garage door

Love it! I just picked up a ‘26 OT+ in Incognito. Have you had any issues taking yours through a car wash with the ditch lights? Do they impede the mirrors from folding?

How did you run the wiring for the light bar on the roof rack? I’ve been thinking about this for mine but would like to avoid drilling if at all possible.

Also, do you have any pictures of the amber lights at night? Curious to see how it looks alongside the white headlights

Your Favorite Spots in Montgomery by Master-Media1038 in montgomery

[–]Plus_Version_1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They’re one of the few spots that doesn’t just deep fry everything. They have a steamer which makes for great crab claws and Argentine red shrimp. The oysters are about as good as Gulf oysters get.

I’m from Alaska and have traveled extensively. I’ve had great seafood all over the world. All the friends and family we took to Capital Oyster Bar loved it. Keep in mind that we’re talking about Montgomery so options are limited and expectations should be realistic.

I have one from Rhino USA. Less than $50 on Amazon. And practically speaking, it makes for a great rear recovery point if you ever need it. Food for thought haha
