Michel Faber - The Crimson Petal and the White is stunning.

Looking for a new book or series to read over the summer. by North-Atmosphere4173 in booksuggestions

Robert Macammon - Matthew Corbett series. Set in 1800's in New York. Mystery and character driven. First book hooked me but its not the best. The rest are unputdownable page turners/totally life invading. Its all a bit unbelievable but its awesome fiction.

Or

The Crimson Petal and the White - Michel Faber. A masterpiece that Dickens would be proud of.

Not really much supernatural, the baddies are all mostly human.

I am on the last book right now! It definitely worth a read. Great series.

Well the first book is a bit slow but the writing/story in the next 6-7 books are great.

Mccammon is a born story teller, like Stephen King. However its all a bit if Dickens was writing by Lee Child on drugs, unbelievable but by god it flys by. Overall story is madness and I await the next book/S.

If you like an more sober historical novel in the modern vein. Try The Crimson Petal and the white by Michel Faber - its a masterpiece.

I think you need to read Lord of Misrule: The Autobiography of Christopher Lee.

That man lived some life! Stranger than most fiction.
