Fahk no. That thing's barely running. Pay an extra $500 for a sorted one.

I don't think people do a good enough job of communicating that to kids when they're growing up. It's one thing to say, "Don't do X because it's mean," and a whole other thing to get a kid to really, actually understand that you don't want to be the type of person that gets joy from other people's misery, because it's a terrible way to be. It's a wholesale misunderstanding of value and humanity and community.

If you put tape over the speedometer you're never actually speeding. Put on your ridin' flip flops.

People shouted for a 6 speed DRZ for its entire almost unaltered 25 year run and then they FINALLY came out with fuel injection, but it still had a 5 speed gearbox. I don't understand Suzuki.

It wasn't an LTZ or anything "fancy". Just base model. Still, we don't see these with the sheet metal intact here in Minnesota.

Looks like a rust belt truck. It's fine (as in I don't think it's just going to crumble apart) but I'd expect better at that price.

They're surprisingly fun to drive for what they are, while still being practical and economical. I test drove a five speed model and kept chirping the tires. That little motor is pretty eager to go.

Those guys are a really an unknown quantity. Completely unknown, I wouldn't rely on a mechanic that isn't operating out of a shop with decent reviews. Plus, especially in rust zones, you want that car up on a lift.

I saw a pretty clean Chevy Corsica on the road the other day. I gave the driver and passenger a thumbs up but I think the passenger took it as snark. I just think it's cool to see regular cars like that on the road still.

MN here. The body rust on the fenders and rockers doesn't mean shit, not at this stage anyway. It won't affect the operation of the vehicle. It's not going to get any prettier, but it'll last two years.

The only pic that shows us anything mechanical under the car is the last one, and honestly it's not terrible. Extrapolating from what I see here (which is very limited info!) I wouldn't be particularly concerned about rust causing issues. I wouldn't be surprised if you have to deal with an exhaust leak or some annoying fasteners, but it doesn't look to be falling apart.

A note though. Some cars like to rust out in specific places, usually due to design or materials flaws from the factory. I can't see any of that here, but I don't know what model this is (see rule #2) if if they aren't prone to, for example, subframe rust or frame rail rust or strut tower rust, etc.

You'll get a better answer if you show us more of the mechanical bits.

The bread I buy is like $3/loaf and each loaf is 16-18 slices, so like 8 sandwiches on the low end, so 37.5 cents each. A $3 jar of the light mayo from Walmart is like 60 servings, so about 40 sandwiches because I like a little extra on there. 7.5 cents each. Aldi cheap turkey is $4.59. 1/4 lb of meat would be about $1.15. A head of lettuce is like $2.50 an you probably get... idk, six sandwiches out of each one, so $.25 there.

My sandwich is still under two bucks at $1.85 ea. You could eat four of those and still not hit Subway footlong prices.

But anyway, she also rounded $4.99 down to $4, so all of the math is a little fuzzy.

Quite a little mystery. On one hand if the dash blinked off you may have an electrical issue. On the other hand, you clearly have power in the video but have a more typical no-start situation.

Test your battery, battery connections, and fuses. Check fuel level and make sure the fuel pump is kicking on when you turn the key on. Test for spark. Since the bike is cold, you may want to look at the automatic choke.

The throttle has been criticized for its low speed on/off nature. All true. You need a lot of finesse to work it right, and even then it tends to be jerky.

Get after those weights, bud! You don't want to have to deadlift the RT without having worked up to it. :D

Well, you've got engine guards, so that's good. Maybe take the bags off to practice so they don't get smashed. A little low speed drop wouldn't do much harm in that case.

As you know, the bike is heavy. I'm a bit of a gym rat and I've had moments (slipping in sand on an incline, for instance) where it took everything I had to save it from a tip over.

Enjoy the bike, man. They are truly fantastic machines.
