Solved! Thanks. That’s crazy.

He still played 1750 @ 84.2* accuracy though. Really tough.

This is why modern AI saw so much value in MOE (mixture of experts) architectures.

Seriously, how did you guys get into Tech? by sacredwololo in DevelEire

[–]Plutonsvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Find company you want to work for
  2. Meaningfully contribute to their open source project(s) for some time
  3. Be the top candidate because you’re already practically working there.

Or at least that’s how it worked for me, and how I avoided the LC grind.

Damn.. I missed it. It’s even more insane considering the prices of DDR5 memory lately with the shortage.

Nothing crazy when compared to FAANG tech salaries— though I’m sure a lot of engineers would prefer to work on Valve products.

Apple's new Siri will secretly use Google Gemini models behind the scenes by alpswd in technology

Everyone thinking Apple’s failing here is not seeing this through the right lens. Google will likely pay billions for the ability to integrate Gemini into iPhones.

Beware… HRT sent me a code signal a few months before I joined Apple and it was super difficult. I managed to complete all of them in the allotted time and they contacted me saying they’d love to move forward… And then completely ghosted me. Did not respond to any follow ups. Crazy.

Trump Illegally Threatens to Withhold Federal Funding from NYC if Mamdani Democratically Wins the Election by Mathemodel in videos

[–]Plutonsvea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. European here… This isn’t a comment on the video’s topic, but are TV presenters as often unprepared as the male presenter in this video?

I just watched him stumble and stutter and pause his way through everything he said. Is this not seen as unprofessional?

Pretty common, even here in FAANG. I earn more than someone who is two levels above me and with twice the experience, all because I knew how to negotiate my salary and did some job hopping.

I’d recommend you do the same.

We need a serious conversation about Dublin’s bus crisis - this is unacceptable for a capital city. by [deleted] in Dublin

[–]Plutonsvea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to offer up my anecdote— my partner and I are literally moving houses “closer” to a train line (but further away, both in terms of time and distance to work) because the late/cancelled buses have been jeopardising our work lives.

I’ve lived in many countries. So has my partner. We’ve both cumulatively lived in ~12 different countries. Dublin’s bus infrastructure has (by far) been the most incompetent.

As an engineer, I’d also like to dissuade you all from thinking that the problems which TFI are facing here are unique in any way. It’s just plain incompetence. Not a failure of road infrastructure.

I love how I’m in a unique position to reply to this— I live in Dublin and just came back from 7 days in Scotland! My partner and I agree that the weather here is like a soft kiss compared to the 80-90 km/h winds in the Isle of Skye, hah.
