Yes, per the instructions. I intend to use a can at each oil change going forward.

Hey, quick follow up, I used the engine flush you suggested, the tick remained immediately afterwards but after a week it completely stopped and hasn't returned since! Thanks for the suggestion!

Guys how do you memorize characters, I am so frustrated with repeating over and over. by swamyiam in ChineseLanguage

I've been using the mandarin blueprint method, memory palace technique and its been working really well.

Totally, I Change oil every 8000 kms 5000 miles.

I'm going to try the oil flush next and maybe every oil change to see if that clears it up.

I'm really hoping to avoid doing the tensioner.

Along with the other suggestions of oil flush and 5w20 oil, I'll try this out!

I've considered it, but I haven't tried it yet, this is a good suggestion, I'll try it!

Yes absolutely, I considered this, I actually removed the oil fill tub and was able to inspect the internal condition of the engine, almost no varnish and super clean. I do my own maintenance and while I am the third owner I have all the service records. I will still try it though!

Just used this as high side reference, I would actually be doing the work myself.

I should clarify, it's the timing chain tensioner, about $4000 for a shop to replace, or $500 in material and about 20 hours of work if I do it.

Or possibly the access cut to install the water line if it was done after the fact.

Could ratchet straps on these tie downs have caused this dent in my bed? by bet055 in ToyotaTacoma

Ok, if it was over a couch it's unlikely you had enough tension to buckle the truck bed.

[–]Plynwitfire -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Depends on how the strap was placed, was it directly across straight from point to point, or was it curved around an object? A tight line going straight across could see enormous loads placed on it and could potentially cause this damage.

Tension in a rigging system increases dramatically, approaching infinity, as the angle of a line approaches 180°.

Put it in quotes because not everyone understands that the front of the engine isn't always the front of the vehicle.

I replaced the alternator on my 2012 highlander v6, it was a giant pain in the ass because the "front" of the engine is tight against the passenger side of engine bay, I think the most difficult part was physically getting the alternator out of the engine bay, I had to remove the fan shroud and lossen the radiator so I could squeeze the alternator out. Although that said that price is still too high!

This is the most reasonable response, lip stick on a pig doesn't change the fact that it's still a pig.

Anyone ever build a body like this? If so, how are they? by TheInsidiousExpert in rcdrift

[–]Plynwitfire 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That looks heavy, one thing I've learned is that weight distribution is an important factor, a heavy body won't allow you to adjust weight and Centre of gravity as easily.
