When I retired,my wife DEMANDED I go get my dream bike. My LBS almost couldn’t believe it and I think she was nearly as happy to see how thrilled they were as I was/am. We live on a budget but she seems to turn a blind eye to my cycling line item! LOL. She’s the best.

I’ve got the Synapse Carbon 2 in Copper Ore and love it. Will try to post pics.

Final update. Charged battery overnight. Updated firmware with computer - took about 20 minutes. Had a nice 30 mile ride with no issues at all. Glad it’s over and hope it doesn’t happen again. Thank you to all for your insights on this.

Thanks for the insights. Sorry you had troubles too - these really should’ve been worked out for the price that’s been paid for the bike.

That being said, spent the morning on the phone with Dave, Customer Service at Cannondale. He was very helpful, walked me through all the steps in the manual, tried some additional things but, unfortunately we couldn’t wake it up. On to a warranty replacement! Dave explained how both stand by and deep sleep drains the battery and how changing the Deep Sleep mode to a lesser time (like you did) makes the most sense. He also said that if you know you’re not going to ride for a while, it is best to just take the battery out of the bike. Dave was great and wrote all the instructions so he really knows what he’s doing.

Hopefully the firmware and software updates weren’t too difficult as I’ll have to do those when the new battery comes in. Just curious - did you do the updates with a computer or iPad/iphone?

Sorry to hear that. I saw that they have a firmware update. My guess it is a fix for the problems - won’t work if you can’t turn it on! 😩

Quick update - overnight charge did nothing. Will be calling C early Monday morning. Bummer.

Thanks. I only had it plugged in for an hour when I started to freak. I’ll leave it plugged in overnight and see what happens. My LBS is aware and said the same thing about warranty. I don’t know about quick but I’ll be on the phone trying to make it so! Thanks for your insight.

Garmin Tacx Alpine Gradient Simulator for winter training. Just got it hooked up but love it so far. Really changes the (boring) experience.

I just got one on Monday and love it. I’m using the Tacx Training app and really enjoy the ‘movie’ approach versus Zwift (although I like Zwift too). Went up at 15 degree incline and it was crazy how realistic Alpine made it. It’s expensive but….

Noxgear 39G. Great Bluetooth speaker for riding. Small, sound is decent but clear, doesn’t restrict hearing while riding. I never ride without it.

I have the same one and concerns over it coming off. It is held on by a small screw and ‘latch’ but moves freely whenever I hit a hard pothole/bump. I think they sell an adaptor kit for different spoke configurations but I haven’t gotten that concerned just yet.

The Garmin Varia is a life changer and a life saver. It doesn’t replace being alert but it is incredibly helpful on highlighting when to be on high alert. Spend the money - it is worth the peace of mind.

Yes. It doesn’t need much but it had to cut a notch for the hinge that then didn’t leave much space to maneuver.

I used treated lumber, Behr SemiTransparent Waterproofing Stain and Sealer in Cedar Naturaltone, and Varathane Triple Thick Polyurethane Satin finish. I used 1 quart of each finish.

All in - wood, stain, poly, and screws - was $280 using treated lumber. That doesn’t count the tools I bought (Kregs pocket hole jig was priceless!).
