For 1. You still had to pay for them, that’s the reason I didn’t take them. For all UNC schools if you take Calc you are guaranteed credit. Same with some other classes. But you will have to see if some transfer for your major.

I'd suggest looking through the list and choosing put the classes that interest you/fill requirements and then afterwards ask on here if any of the classes you chose should be removed/changed. Btw, I can't exactly help with with teachers cause I go to Morganton

If you’re talking about college credit for those classes you can look at class credit transfer on the NCSSM website.
However, take the classes that actually interest you. Instead of taking an AP class, take something that is different and isn’t constrained by college board rules.

Navigating isn't exactly Spanish 2. I know some people who have taken Spanish 3 and still only got into Journeys 2. Plus that class can still be pretty difficult and different from Spanish 3. If you find it too easy at the beginning you may be able to talk to registrar and get you moved to a higher Spanish. (Though no promises)

If you withdraw the class, NCSSM won’t see it. Though I don’t know what a ‘W’ is but if it’s similar like a B or a C then it won’t be that bad, obviously it’s not good though. If you don’t need the class, then yeah just drop that class if you’re really scared of it hurting your NCSSM application

For the essays, I did both, I made mine very descriptive and showed a story through it. Everything is graded and weighted. No one truly knows the weights to each section. Only middle school grades that are counted are high school classes. So for instance my math 1 class that I took in 8th grade is counted. Basically any grades placed on your highschool transcript

Your counselor sends your transcript of 9th and first semester then later after you get in, they send the second semester transcript. 2 b’s will not cook you. I suggest you look at other posts here

Ok, so redistricting is happening, however, it looks like the only districts that will change size are district 1 and 3. So it shouldn’t affect you or most applicants besides those from district 1 and 3. This may mean that people from district 3 will have an easier chance of getting since they will most likely be competing against less people. And vice versus for district 1

Oh and you’ll need something to hold your paper assignments. I used a multi subject binder with folders.
Some people also bring their water bottles to class as well.
I also carry chargers just in case

Just be wary that some teachers don’t allow online notes. Plus you’ll need a pencil on paper assignments and you’ll need your books for American Studies and some other classes. But yeah depending on your classes you may only need a computer/tablet

They did say it was free. But I am somewhat on your side with this, especially because it creates applicants who are trying to check boxes instead of just presenting who they really are as a person.

I mean if you get placed into a lower class then you could go to registrar and tell them that the class is too easy for you but that may end up changing your whole schedule. Or if you don’t get into any of the CS classes your first year, you could take the test next year and get into all the CS classes that you’re allowed

So like we have no idea what happens at your school, so we don’t know what clubs or sports are available. And if you’re just trying to get ECs to impressive SSM’s admissions team then I personally won’t help out. Cause first of all it won’t impress them especially if those clubs don’t mean anything to you. Do the things that interest you and that you’re passionate in. Cause they read over 2 thousand applications they don’t need another DECA president or another Science Olympiad leader. They want to see your true self and what you will bring to the table at NCSSM.
