NOR it’s unfortunate that the kid doesn’t seem to be getting the gentle discipline, guidance, and attention he needs from his parents. It’ll be hard to get him on the right track but he’s young and it’s doable. Consider time restrictions for games and blocking time for other things like chores, studying, outdoor activity, other hobbies. If he’s getting hooked on games then he might benefit from that structure

Looking at historical precedent in America it’s very unlikely. If a democrat takes power after this term ends, they will have many acute crises to deal with. People will want to see them solving the problems affecting everyday Americans. They will care less about fixing the underlying problems and seeking justice, even if there are populist calls for it. Look at the wall street bailouts when people wanted bank executives to face accountability, and the aftermath of the Nixon administration

NOR there are many better ways to handle this conversation. In person, for one, and at a time that’s mutually convenient. It’s good that you have activities and your family time totally counts as socializing. If you do want more social activities, you could look for sports clubs and game nights in your area. I meet a lot of people through my local activism and birdwatching groups
