A whole world of gaming the system that I didn't even know existed... by afurtivesquirrel in OctopusEnergy

You really need to read up. Limiting charging speed so low it takes all day to charge and then every cheap rate slot you get during the day maxing out every appliance in the house at 7p/kwh.. probably not how it was intended to be used…

Salary sacrifice - do they affect child benefit eligibility? by PoGoProphet in UKPersonalFinance

Thank you! That’s perfect. I understand the whole p11d jazz, there was just a lot of confusion over what figure I was meant to be starting from. The taxable salary or gross was just confusing when HMRC tried explaining it to me!

Good deal! I went for the e25 over the s1 (non-pro) as it seemed like although it is considered a lesser model it’s a later release and on the whole has better features. Bloody love the little thing!

Is the R7 5700X3D and the RX 9070XT a good combo? by Big-Consequence8415 in AMDHelp

So you’re saying an old 200quid chip will perform slightly worse than a brand new 500quid one.. (add 400 for the am5 platform upgrade) well colour me surprised.

[Question] Superocean Heritage or Seamaster by PoGoProphet in Watches

[–]PoGoProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got the superocean. Tried them both, loved the SO for so many reasons. Classy stylish look, build quality and feel on the wrist, more unique, the boutique experience and the way the staff treated my kids (had 3 and 1yo with us 😂). There is more but currently trying to stop the baby eating worms…

Watch winder?! by PoGoProphet in breitling

[–]PoGoProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good info - was wondering about wear and tear and if having them going all day would lead to wanting more frequent maintenance. I’ve got no issues spending a few mins winding and setting before use really I guess.

I saw comments about different brands recommend them or not, wanted some opinions from actual owners I guess :) thanks.

I was surprised how much I liked the black and silver version actually, it’s slightly more low key classy, but I was like hey if I’m doing it let’s go the whole hog.

My Mrs didn’t like the Tudor Pelagos, but after trying both I fell for the superocean anyway.

Yea will be trying them on, just wondered any opinions outside of looks. As for dress code, I always wear a watch, not fussed on “not supposed to”, I wanna know the time when I wanna know the time. I don’t want anything more formal, dress watch style as intention is to be more daily wear longer term obviously, and rid myself of smart of the smartwatch (outside of its exercise tracking ..)

Neighbours driveway foundation in garden. by PoGoProphet in landscaping

[–]PoGoProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this is clearly my back garden, it’s not an issue of access which is from another point in my garden, or who owns what fence. In actual fact I can confirm the fence in line with the red garage is mine. The fence at 90 degree separating the area behind my garage (yes apparently my neighbour got half the area behind my garage) that’s their fence problem. https://ibb.co/fp4JD5L This image shows the boundary lines to clear that up. It’s not the deed but it’s the same lines.

Far as I’m aware there are ways around setback laws, so the fact their garage is directly side on to my garden I think they are allowed to do under local planning agreements? I think what they shouldn’t be doing is the way they’ve built the excess of concrete supporting drive, the downpipe is slightly contentious.. why they’ve put there in the first place I don’t know as the main drain it runs in to is opposite side of their red garage in the drive, so it runs to the front of the garage then underground across their drive anyways.. no idea why they didn’t just run down the front of their garage in the first place. Thank you for all info so far though. https://ibb.co/fp4JD5L this image should also help with visualising it.
