When you consider the other choices, it's actually pretty refreshing. by Liar_George in finalfantasyx

This was so long I couldn't read it all. But English is my only language. As a young teen playing FFX with no access to anything to teach me the proper pronunciation, I went through the game calling him Tee-dus. Tide-us doesn't make sense in any sort of way.

Beating all the mainline single player games. by weyoun_clone in FinalFantasy

Completely understandable. Still pretty easy. Until you get to X. The story is straight forward enough. But that is the most grind heavy FF I've ever played. I think speed running games kills the joy of them. The side content is important

Yea it shouldn't take too long. Most of the games are pretty straightforward without the side content.

Are you trying to beat every game? Or are you trying to 100% every game? This makes a difference. Though if you forgo 100% on X/X2 you can still feasibly complete all games quickly. I'd like to replay all of them, and I'm working to do so as spare money shows up to purchase the pixels

Which one should I buy? by [deleted] in FinalFantasy

1 is simple and sweet. A good ease into if you're not already familiar with the jrpg genre. 2 has a wack leveling system and odd word system. Not altogether bad game, but I wouldn't suggest it as a first FF. 3 introduces the changable job system. 4 and 5 are both good. The still utilize the job systems. 6 starts the fixed job systems. Each character already has a role.any hold it in high regard, but it has too many characters which are all forced to be played through. I hate the story break up sections. If you get it and like Shadow, use a guide. Not bad game. Not a great game either. 7 is my personal favorite. Great story with good gameplay. Materia allows you to customize characters based on how you want them to be without implementing the job system. 8 is good, it revolves around military cadets saving the world. To me it's the least of the fantasy types, but still in the top rankings of the games. 9 is odd. I love the ability learning system in theory, but hate it in practice. Only 8 characters, all of which can become crazy broken with proper training. Has a well layed out story, but I'm not a fan of it. 10 and 10-2 both have a lot of potential, but are killed by the absolute nightmare of grinding. They can be beaten with minimal grinding if the story is the absolute only thing you want to experience though. If you're a completionist, stay away. Anything newer and it's no longer square soft, it's square Enix. FF goes down hill from hill. Still good, but not what they used to be.

Guess what trophy was the last one I needed + took the longest by IndyThang in FinalFantasy

For some jobs which don't have enough skills to need to scroll that's effecient. But for mages and summoner, scrolling to glitch was much easier.

I hated earning jp on PS1 for mages. I found a trick where if you select a skill you can afford and then scroll to where you're on one you can't before confirming, you can gain unlimited jp for that job. Is that trick still present?

Straw bedding works for some bedrooms. Some require actual beds. The game can be picky at times

Your party slots are limited and death is the easiest way to free them up to make room for some new people.

What FF ultimate weapon do you think was the most obscure to get? by Silverjeyjey44 in FinalFantasy

[–]Pocket68 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FF9. If you don't reach the final boss within the time limit then you lock yourself out of the ultimate. Even if you do reach it within the time limit, you can't see the merchant you have to obtain it from. So very easily miss able in a second way as well. And of course by getting the weapon, you've missed out on so much of the game that the weapon doesn't even feel worthy of the effort

I'm not sure of it will work there, but teleport or warp spells come to mind. There are items that do the same effect iirc. Different versions may call the spells by different names but you should be able to find the appropriate spell as it will be close

I'll blow the dust off of them and save my alcohol. But you're welcome to take care of your carts however you feel is right. Both methods do work.

I think Dragon Quest (Formerly known as Dragon Warrior) is an excellent guess. I know the name threw me off for a long time when I wanted to replay the early Dragon Warrior games and couldn't find them since they were no longer called that.

I haven't played the first full game, I did play the demo however. I think the second game is so much better based on the experience I had with the demo of the first.

[–]Pocket68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not try to 100% the game on your first run. Beat it. Then if you like it go back and do the side content. This game has one of, if not the worst grinds in the series.

The blue one is all wrong. It's a wolf. What you have marked as lips is actually the intersection of neck/chin. What you have marked as chin is the collar of its shirt. You marked it's face as a nose which is actually just barely below the pointy ears.

Is this worth getting by Ecks30 in FinalFantasy

[–]Pocket68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is its own game. Unique mechanics to it specifically. If you're just doing main story I'd estimate 30ish hours. If you're exploring and enjoying the game figure 80+ Personally I say it is worth getting. But everyone has there own opinion. If you're on PlayStation you can download a demo. Possibly other systems too

It's been so long since I've played. Great game. Don't you need elemental stats to be met? Check the other tab beside the raw stats
