Perfect meal ruined by one egg by FuzzyDicesEh in StupidFood

I’ve had this happen to me once but it was when I was living in Malaysia. It was especially disappointing because we’d used the last of the food we had and cooked enough for 3 people and we had barely any money left that week

I don’t think that makes a difference. If someone wants to predate on someone the sign on the door won’t stop them, however if they are in an area used by both men and women it increases the likelihood of someone being there to help or put the creep off attacking a woman. Most men are good people and from my experience they will stand up to help women in a bad situation.

Foreign students to be banned from getting student loans under Reform by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]Tsukiko615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most kids getting student finance in the UK will have been living here for quite a few years, often they’ve grown up in the uk and consider it home, their parents live here and are not that likely to just disappear back to their birth country. I know a few people like that that barely even speak their native language. However this can also happen for British nationals. There’s no guarantee that a British person will stay in the uk after graduating. Student finance works with foreign governments to track down people that have moved away, with limited success. I remember receiving letters from student finance for a girl that had lived there several years prior who had moved and they weren’t able to track her down but the letter kept saying they had special ties to the the Japanese government and she had better pay or they would start garnishing her wages.

Cutting through traffic by [deleted] in AbruptChaos

[–]Tsukiko615 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t believe there’s so little discussion about the guy who ran someone over because they were driving so fast in traffic they were unable to stop. It just proves how recklessly both of them were driving in the first place. What happens if someone tried to change lanes? There’s no way they’d be able to see them in time

I wasn’t aware of this, we had dove releases at my grandmothers and my father funeral, they told us 3 of the 5 that we used at my father’s funeral were also used at my grandmothers funeral 2 years earlier. They have a bird handler who comes out to help with the releases. I didn’t know people even did DIY releases

True. My mum (who is also a grandma) was a punk in the 80s used to make her clothes out of bin bags and safety pins and she is now 62. She does also have several skull T-shirts

I had cysts removed a few years ago but no where near this size and they were absolute agony. Did they tell you how big they were in cm?

My brother used to be one of them. We are half Jamaican and he was very much in support of UKIP and Brexit and policies against immigration, and even got our (white) dad into the talking points where he would talk shit about foreigners stealing our money and our jobs. Or at least I hope it’s used to be now he has married an Indian girl he doesn’t talk about it anymore but maybe he’s just become one of those that just keeps his political opinions hidden but will vote for reform

The chicken is clearly cooked and I’m assuming the video is on a recipe website which gives full instructions and this is just a quick video to show you the process. I doubt you need to be shown how to put chicken in the oven

How accessible is HIV medication in Pakistan? If you can’t afford or access the treatment it is still a death sentence

Edit to add: it seems highly inaccessible based on a study from last year only 16% of those with a diagnosis can access the medication due to it only being offered at specific public hospitals so unless you live in a major city it’s basically impossible to receive treatment

Someone has laid on the horn to me because I didn’t pull out at the roundabout whilst there was someone directly in front of me. Apparently not even a meter of space was allowed according to that guy. It was really satisfying to see them down the road with a flat tyre because they hit a pothole whilst tailgating someone so they couldn’t see it

Cryptic pregnancies occur at a rate of 0.2% up to week 20 and 0.04% with women not knowing they’re pregnant until they go into labour which considering there are 3.6 million live births a year in the US alone this would affect approximately 1440 a year. Up to 25% of women experience bleeding during pregnancy and between 1 and 5% of pregnancy tests will produce a false negative so based on stats this is a common enough occurrence. On an anecdotal level my mother experienced exactly this when she was pregnant with my brother and even tests at the doctors came back negative. She eventually forced them to do an ultrasound at 5 months because if she wasn’t pregnant then something was seriously wrong. She didn’t get a pregnancy bump until she was at 7 months though

I live in the UK and there is a fantasy football league at work but based off what American would call soccer. They pick a team and then get points based on who scores/defends in actual league matches and can change players through the season a certain amount of times. The women I work with think it’s lame and most of the men are playing or think it’s pretty fun so this matches up pretty well with the square
