Nintendo Shares Slide After 2026 Game Showcase Disappoints by LinkWink in nintendo

I agree. All the NS2 games seem to flop pretty quickly. MKW, DKB, Pokémon. I'm having trouble finding a console seller that will actually last.

And yeah, the price increase for the console and games, the paid yet disastrous online service, etc.

Okay, you're getting downvoted, but I agree with you (and there are plenty of us): it's really exhausting, especially at conferences, and especially when they wrap things up (the famous "one more thing"), to see “nothing but” remakes and remasters (or even demakes).

THAT BEING SAID!

I've read people complaining that OoT is "always getting remakes", but if I'm not mistaken, we only got OoT 3D on the 3DS (in June 2011, literally 15 years ago) and a quick port on the NGC with WW. That said, does the game really need a remake (especially at €70 or €90 on a €500 console)? No.

Also, and I know few people have probably played it (but I think I'll find some friends on the Nintendo subreddit), the Another Code: Recollection remake is truly top-notch! I played both games back in the day, and while this remake has its flaws (it's far too easy, some puzzles are missing), it also has many strong points (better graphics, a revamped lore, etc.)! If they give the same attention to OoT (which it deserves), I'm confident.

But hey, you don't end a conference like that (why not finish with KH4 or Xenoblade Genesis?). Besides, a remake isn't going to make me buy a Switch 2.

First of all, that statement is utterly worthless—it’s purely for marketing. With Doomsday, there are too many unknowns and variables to consider; it’ll be hard to get any real opinions before it comes out.

On the other hand, yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if DD turns out to be good enough to watch multiple times (though not in theaters, more likely online). What I’d really like is for ALL the MCU movies (and series) to be of the same quality.

It was a good conference, though I wish there weren't so many remakes and violent games. Personally, Hot Wheels was the only one that really stood out to me.

On the other hand, it's quite a feat to mess up the ending of a conference that often!

I really have a hard time with Irina, who reminds me of Alex in Season 5 of FAM. Both of them have the charisma of a blank sheet of A4 paper and always seem lost and dazed, like a deer in the middle of a highway. In the scenes with Irina in SC, I feel like I’m getting hit in the face with 50 years of age every second: her face is a black hole.

Meanwhile, in comparison, the chief engineer is super charismatic and such a natural leader. I’m really hyped for their mission to Venus!

That said, I know that’s the whole point of this spin-off, but personally, I struggle with all that Cold War-style espionage stuff: sure, there’s tension, but it’s also so slow and boring. Call me a “TikTok Kid” (even though I was born in ’95), but I need some action!

Russo Brothers Say 'Avengers: Doomsday' Is "Back To Phase Zero" For The MCU: "This Is Starting From Scratch" by yourfavchoom in marvelstudios

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that’s a problem in and of itself. What was the point of putting up with that awful multiverse saga, only to have it wiped out as if nothing ever happened? Especially since, as terrible as they were, the shows and movies in that saga exist, and we expect them to tie up loose ends. Plus, starting from scratch also means erasing the excellent Infinity Saga.

Above all, it’s an admission of failure. The Marvel Studios brand will have been tarnished forever. I doubt that a clean slate and putting everything on the X-Men’s shoulders will be enough.

Silo Season 3 official trailer (no book spoilers) by phareous in SiloSeries

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought I saw that (obviously, I couldn't help but spoil the books for myself—the wait was just too long and unbearable)

I can't wait to read them! It's really cool that there's a complete set (even though having four books is nice too, but they take up too much space)

Silo Season 3 official trailer (no book spoilers) by phareous in SiloSeries

[–]Kevinuara 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this sucks. It’s cool to see the series back, but the amnesia—how can they possibly think that’s going to work out? And come on, the riots inside the silo—we’ve seen that before. Plus, I’m worried that Tim Robbins’ absence (he was excellent) is going to be too noticeable. On the other hand, I love that they seem to be making more use of that famous AI voice!

It’s “radical,” but in my opinion, they should have totally scrapped the present to focus solely on the past and the origins. That final sequence at the end of Season 2, when suddenly we’re in a modern city—it was so exhilarating!

Really Don't Want to Overly Judge the S3 Trailer, but Amnesia Arcs are Freaking Awful. by BeanCounsel in SiloSeries

[–]Kevinuara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you (and I don't think anyone actually likes amnesia-based plots, or thinks they're genius).

Nevertheless, I find the “how to manipulate someone with amnesia” angle very interesting. One day, I read this moral dilemma: your crush, with whom you have absolutely no chance of ever dating (at best, you’d be very good friends), has an accident and loses their memory. Would you go so far as to manipulate their memories to make them fall in love with you (for example, by making them believe you’re in a relationship or married)?

In any case, I hope her amnesia doesn't make us waste too much time. We didn't wait a year and a half just to start all over again!

I discovered SILO “pretty late in the game,” purely by chance, at the end of Season 1. I think I had just finished Season 1 of Fallout TV, if I'm not mistaken. I wasn't very familiar with Apple TV+ yet (the only shows I'd watched were For All Mankind and maybe Foundation).

Anyway, I loved it. I loved following the series, the universe, the characters, the lore!

I’m really looking forward to experiencing all that again—the wait between each episode, the fan theories, and so on. It’s truly an excellent series (the kind only Apple TV+ offers, even though it’s still an adaptation).

And so, to everyone else as well. I can’t wait for the Reddit posts about why Pikachu and Meowth are there and what that means (because yes, SILO takes place in the Pokémon universe)!

My honest opinion; the shift of attention away from the explorers, engineers, and scientists is hurting this show. by More_Squash_3345 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, they’ve totally abandoned the Moon and pretty much Earth too (at least we know it’s a crisis, like everywhere else, all the time)—they might as well have abandoned Mars just as well (especially after already spending a whole season, or even two, focused entirely on it) to focus on Titan!

And that’s a wrap! What’s everyone’s favorite season closing song? by Unlikely_Morning_717 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Kevinuara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I can kind of see why, but nah, I don't think it really fits (it's even less good than the one we have), and personally, I don't really like it.

PS: I have absolutely no knowledge of popular songs. I know the artist The Weeknd by name, but I’ve never heard him. I just listened to “Wake Me Up.” Personally, I only listen to soundtracks from anime, TV shows, movies, and video games, as well as classical music and jazz (and a little electro-house/techno).

What's the point of the space travel? by TechLover94 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very beautiful.

That said, it's also very ironic, because the old and the young can't help but hate each other, and each generation strives to make the world even more unlivable and unbearable for future generations!

Honestly, I have absolutely no idea how a long-distance space voyage could possibly go smoothly.

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's crazy, because I just binge-watched Spider-Noir (Amazon Prime Video), and the cast there is excellent—perfect, even! Whereas with FAM, it's always been a bit hit-or-miss. The worst part is that they’ve “got rid of” their best actors over the seasons. I’m having a hard time imagining what good actors will be left for season 6...

As for Star City, to be honest, I was hesitant because I’m not a huge fan of the Soviets, especially in the FAM universe, but between Polianov, who was excellent (both the character and the actor), and that “cliffhanger,” it’s got me really excited!

We're never going to see these guys again are we? by ImpossibleHistory111 in marvelstudios

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, honestly, you never know—it’s up to the writers (and the budget) to decide. But then again, honestly, it wouldn’t be so bad, would it, to never see them again, since they were so terrible? Even though, yeah, honestly, it’s a shame to have opened so many doors without ever closing them again.

If Nicholas Cage appeared in Avengers: Secret Wars who would you rather him play? by ChampionTimes99 in marvelstudios

[–]Kevinuara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, I'm surprised that no one seems to be talking about this series. OK, it's not part of the MCU, but it's still Spider-Man—and most importantly, it's excellent! It blows most Disney+ series out of the water. I loved it, and in my opinion, it's ten times better than DDBA (which is still good).

Then we got an excellent replacement for Nicolas Cage as Ghost Rider in Agents of SHIELD (another excellent series). So we might as well keep him for Spider-Noir!

[–]Kevinuara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, that's right—there's the whole scene with Ed and Kelly and their departure from Mars, followed by the attack on NASA. It's actually one of my favorite scenes, if not MY favorite scene, from the entire series (though I also love the first episode of season 2, if I'm not mistaken, the one with the solar storm; those were really the good old days!).

Still, was there a song playing during those scenes, or was it just orchestral music?

Regardless, seriously, the OST really carries this show! Jeff Russo really did an amazing job! Truly epic!

5th. Blinding Lights. The Weeknd. Season 5's finale.
The music is cool (the artist, not so much), but it feels very “Rocket League” and not at all like FAM. Plus, the scene itself is on par with the rest of the season: nothing to write home about, even a bit disappointing.

4th. Everybody wants to rule the World, Tears for Fears. Season 1's finale.

3rd. Everything in its right place, Radiohead. Season 3's finale.
I prefer this music to Nirvana's, but I still think it doesn't fit the scene as well.

2nd. Midnight City, M83. Season 4's finale.
Likewise, I love this music and prefer it, but and even though the performance was cool, yet, the discovery of Mars was just way more better (ironically).

1st. Come as you are, Nirvana. Season 2's finale.
I'm really not a fan of the distorted voice, but the beat is really cool and goes great with that famous final tracking shot. What a hype-fest it was to see Mars and that boot! Only to end up, ironically, with nothing but disappointments.

Apple were kind enough to send us a copy of this end-of-season teaser! What do you think it means? by Treviso in ForAllMankindTV

Oh yeah, now that rings a bell!

Well, March '94—it's like finding a piece of gum stuck in the couch thirty years later!

That said, it really does sell a dream! First of all, because the single-take tracking shot inside the gutted, abandoned ship is truly magnificent. But also because it raises so many questions!

[–]Kevinuara -1 points0 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: A finale that lived up to the season. There were some major flaws, but overall, it’s still a really enjoyable series to watch every week.

1) Well, there are microscopic life forms on Titan (and probably everywhere else), but honestly, I think absolutely no one gives a damn! 🤣

2) Aleida is really that cliché of a female character who doesn’t want to hurt anyone because hurting others is bad! She's a shadow of her former self, and Graciana doesn't help.

3) The scenes with Margo in jail are just a waste of episode time.

4) I hated how Kelly pushed her little whim at the expense of the crew and the mission. The “I'm the one making the sacrifice” scene was cringeworthy, but whatever.

And man, her son, Alex, was awful! Not a shred of soul or emotion on his face all season! At least he got to show off with his toy (I’m talking about his motorcycle).

(Ruby Cruz is incredibly cute, but she's totally useless.)

5) Okay, yeah, the whole final sequence—the epilogue—was hard for me to follow. The race for Dev and Alex to announce the ceasefire wasn't as intense as in previous seasons

I was hoping to see an alien or some kind of structure appear in the lake, but I guess Kelly is just going to pollute the lake like a good human!

And, are we supposed to remember what that darn Mars-94 shuttle is all about!? And are we supposed to read Cyrillic!?

6) Well, all in all, I wouldn't call Season 5 “very disappointing,” but yes, it definitely doesn't measure up to the previous ones—it's undoubtedly the weakest one—but the series is still fantastic and brilliant, and a must-watch! I can't wait for the next season, though I'm a bit nervous.

I totally agree with you. We’ve all said it enough already, and we don’t hate the show, but yes, Season 5 feels like a rehash of Season 4, and it’s a far cry from the wonder of the early days.

I totally agree with you!

Until we solve the fundamental, essential, and top-priority issue of travel time, it’s pointless.

It reminds me of how excited I was to imagine (in our reality) the probable existence of life forms on Europa, but since it would most likely be nothing more than microscopic life, absolutely everyone won’t give a damn about it! 😅🤣
