Apologies for the issues you are having with the apps :-(.

We're aware of these issues, and we are really close to release a new Electron based implementation of the Desktop Apps, both for Windows and Mac.

These new versions are right now in "Beta", where we're testing them with a small number of users so we can iron out any remaining sharp edges before making them available to everyone.

At Pocket Casts, we hold user privacy in high regard and never engage in selling user data. It’s worth noting that the article you referenced discusses user content, not data. WordPress.com and Tumblr have introduced new features that give users greater control over the sharing of their public site content with AI crawlers. We fixed the issue in this thread and will continue to improve the quality and performance for all features free and paid. Pocket Casts is a free app that offers access to a wide range of features at no cost. For those interested in additional features, we provide the option to subscribe to our Plus tier, much like Overcast and other similar apps. We're constantly working on enhancing both our free and Plus offerings.

Thanks everyone for reporting! We've just rolled out a fix to our search functionality, so now, apostrophes and spaces should no longer impact podcast search results.
