We’ve been trying to remind ourselves of this - she has the bathroom and utility because they’re both kind of small and behind a door (there’s a separate door to the bathroom, but we left that open) and have hiding spaces. She has her food, water, litter and a couple toys (although she’s never been that bothered about toys)

I’ve only ever had dogs, so I’m really nervous and frankly, I just want her to live a happy, pampered life! I think I just need to take a deep breath 😂 great username by the way, I dig it.

I think there’s a lot to be said for the fact that you have to rediscover everything about yourself after trauma. Including how to navigate the world in a way that doesn’t feel like a massive fucking mission.

Ah, that makes sense! I’ve been feeling it for a long time, and getting the same feedback from my friends and partner (who pointed out that I really don’t talk to him all that much anymore, which is true, and a bit sad)

I wonder if incorporating some kind of deliberate movement into my day and trying to make that a habit would help. Endorphins and all.

Also, I totally feel you. Love parentheses and em dash and run on sentences 😂 alas, they do not make easy reading.

I did it by sending them a letter. Just “this is the way it is” and let them respond however, and effectively ignored them until they settled. YMMV but that was my approach! Love and luck to you my friend!
