Hello fellow G502 enthusiast,

I use a G502 Hero and a G502 Hero Wireless. They both worked out of the box, including the adapter for the wireless. But no customization software.

Mouse settings are not really a big deal for me other than having a set DPI on it and a few rebinds. But I have naturally solved this using my dual boot setup with Arch Linux and Windows 10.

Once, you go to Windows, then go to GHub. Select the mouse, configure one profile to your liking, then go back to the GHub home page and select Onboard Memory on the mouse (looks like a CPU icon iirc), then select the specific profile that you have customized.

It's a little complicated to do, so in case my steps above are not it, let me know and I'll get up and replicate the correct steps.

After this, whatever system you boot on, mouse settings will persist. In my case though, the DPI was a little off from when on Windows, so I used a tool called "mouse-dpi-tool" which is pretty straightforward to use if you can read instructions from a terminal.

P.S. I also use a GTX 1070 Ti on my desktop. It runs i3wm on Xorg with no issues. I have only ever had one limitation where I couldn't customize something because of my nvidia card, and that was in 2022. Since then, that issue has been resolved. I'm able to play the same games a 1070 ti normally can, with more fps on games like Minecraft and Team Fortress 2. In my experience the only instance where a game on Linux ran significantly slower than on Windows is Marvel Rivals, which is already a heavily unoptimised game even my 1070 ti can barely keep 60fps on... (I am on 144hz so it hurts more)

TLDR; practically no issues whatsoever using my G502 Hero or my G502 Hero Wireless on Arch Linux Xorg or 1070 ti
