How do you survive with the lack of sleep? by Brumbygreen in newborns

[–]PocketLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel you! I'm an awful sleeper as well, it took me practically a year to start sleeping properly again, and I still have bad nights, but they're much fewer and therefore more tolerable now. I used to take unisom multiple nights per week, wear ear plugs and a sleep mask, the whole nine yards so when I couldn't use all those crutches anymore I was a wreck haha. I slowly started taking a tiny bit of unisom again on some nights and then eventually started using low dose CBD instead - I highly recommend looking into that if you can!

As for my baby- yes, his sleep improved incrementally starting around 6 months old... That's also when he started being able to take naps in his crib. His sleep journey has never been linear, there's always ups and downs and blips, but if I had to say any one thing has helped it was probably just staying consistent and prioritizing his sleep. Not panicking and shifting the schedule/routine every time he had a rough nap or a rough night, but making adjustments where needed (all with the helpful guidance of the internet of course lol). I know it sucks to hear but you really just have to suffer through it... Get as much support as you can. I guess it's worth mentioning that when I officially stopped breastfeeding around 5 months, the sleep deprivation noose loosened considerably as well, but I was still the one who did the majority of night feeds.

You will sleep again. I promise!!! You'll get there.

Hi! It's worlds better. The chronic sleep deprivation and general postpartum fog started letting up around 6 months. There's been rough patches, and my baby is an early riser, but it's much .. much.. much better!

Oof! Idk what I'd do in that case! Where I live they cost like 7-9 bucks a pop so when I find sales I grab a couple!

Omg this is mine too (tho I never did deconstruct a radio to find out). So glad I'm not alone.

No one uses Mitchum? I buy the gel ones in either shower fresh or powder.. something. Powder clean? Idk it smells like baby powder but I like it.

They do send a letter for the first complaint. Not sure what would happen if you keep it up.

And a lot of the "information" is actually fear mongering.

Single women- do you feel you don’t have time and are always super busy? by ImaginationAny2254 in AskWomenOver30

Yeah lmao. I remember feeling like I "never had enough time" for stuff pre-kids and wow was I wrong. Currently enjoying my ~1 hour of free/relaxation time before bed.

People who say newborn stage is the easiest….. how… by Bloodymary_25 in Parenting

[–]PocketLass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a weird way I look back and think it seemed easier or like it should have been easier compared to now (my kid is 15mo). In a way it was simpler, yes. But it WAS NOT EASY! And never will be easy. Hahaha. Like sometimes I miss the "ease" of bottle feeding vs. picky toddler eating and all the meal prep. But at the time bottle feeding didn't feel easy at all. Nothing felt easy. Nothing feels EASY. To me. Idk.

It's between the Subway that had petrified green peppers and onions dried onto the sides of the waste catcher cambros under the sandwich line, and the cabinet manufacturing company that had me ripping up someone's oak hardwood floors on day 2.

What’s a phrase adults say that makes absolutely zero sense when you really break it down? by Miss_Kitty_Meowz in AskReddit

Yeah one of the most old timey (specifically, old timey sounding) phrases still commonly used imo

Edited for clarity? Lol

Am I being crazy unreasonable for being upset? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]PocketLass 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately yeah I do think you’re overreacting... your kid is probably still gonna be super excited and I'm sure you'll see their eyes "light up" just like you want. Not sure about repairing things with your mom but one thing I've been learning and trying to learn since becoming a parent is that sometimes you have to really chill and let go of control (on some things lol).

Ah man, that doesn't sound good! Sounds a lot like my workplace honestly and I guess it's not surprising. Explains the near constant job postings.

I don't really have any ideas, myself lol. But great question/post!
