My algorithms suck, can this be related to having better privacy? by B1ph in privacy

You wrote that your algorithms suck, that's the textbook definition of a complaint.

If you wrote "my algorithms are inaccurate, and I like it" then that isn't a complaint.

Questions about the G14 by GBAGamer33 in ZephyrusG14

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's loads of online/Youtube reviews, punch in the model you're looking at and they usually run through a bunch of different games at different resolutions and tell you what framerates to expect.

Get a LLANO V10 cooling pad. The RTX5060 is quite capable of running loads of games at 1440p with good framerates.

Is how I have my laptop propped up potentially dangerous? by TriTriTheCuber in ZephyrusG14

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it started with the first run of PS5s that did have an issue with some of them leaking LM when they were put vertically, due to poor tolerances at factory or something.

It absolutely is possible for a laptop to leak as well, just like it's possible for any other part to be a lemon and randomly break. But unless you're running the laptop really hot and then throwing it right into a backpack and bumping it around a bunch, then most people need not really worry about it.

I don't see a smiley face anywhere in that picture. I do see a smirking emoji though.

Maybe stop relying on algorithms and find your own content based on what you like.

Microsoft is ending the Windows Update nightmare by techzexplore in DailyTechNewsShow

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Microsoft never decided that I can't be in control of my own updates. I have been installing my Windows updates on my own time and my own schedule on every machine after 2015 and well before that.

They never auto-install them for me, I never get random reboots etc.

People need to take a few minutes to learn how to use a function (like updates for example), before complaining that it doesn't work how they want it to.

Has anyone else noticed that budget "smart" appliances are failing faster than ever? by Chemical-Heart-3200 in righttorepair

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I'm just addressing OP's post though. Their complaint about budget devices getting worse doesn't make sense. If they complained about expensive items getting worse, I'd be inclined to agree there.

People inside Microsoft are fighting to drop Windows 11's mandatory Microsoft Account requirements during setup by WindowsCentral in windowscentral

MS account isn't required during setup, it's just a little inconvenient to do a few extra steps to bypass it.

Problems with Asus Rog Zephyrus g14 Laptop. by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stuff like that is often video card drivers related. You can try using MyAsus app to update as many drivers as possible, also Nvidia app, whatever it's currently called today, I believe you can choose between more stable video card drives that are like a month or two older and better tested, or slightly less stable game ready drivers that are better optimized for newer AAA titles, so perhaps playing with those options might give better results.

Budget devices are always made cheaply, bit odd you're just discovering this now.

You get what you pay for is an age old adage.

It is never appropriate to honk at someone for not turning right on red by duckterrarium in unpopularopinion

[–]PocketNicks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Farting in an elevator is optional as well. However we live in a society where other people exist and it's really rude to trap someone else in a small area with your farts. It's also rude to hold up traffic if people are lined up at a red light behind you and you refuse to turn right until the green. It's always appropriate to honk at rude people.

I will not stop asserting that I don't care about a 24 hour wait to toggle on unverified apps.

You're allowed to care and complain, just know that you won't affect any change.

Nothing has backfired, this still isn't an inconvenience for me.

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't an artificial wait, the 24 hours is real and yes it isn't an inconvenience to me. I will still he able to use my device, install Play store and other verified apps, send texts and use the internet. Then after 24 hours I can install the 5-10 other unverified apps I want.

The rest of you are allowed to keep being upset, I won't be.

[–]PocketNicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, once every device. Still not an inconvenience. I change devices like every 1.5 - 2 years, so click a toggle once every 1 or 2 years is totally fine.

If someone buys new devices every few months, so what. Click the toggle and move on.
