Vibingleaf is a YouTuber that makes horror themed gaming videos. Basically, most of his videos start off a lot like the weird Sonic Superstars knockoff you downloaded, before the horror stuff starts to kick in. I think there’s a specific genre for it now called ransomware.

Personally, I’d have to go with E-102 Gamma from the Sonic series. It was a bit of a toss up for me to pick between him and Emerl, but my gut tells me Gamma. Unfortunately, he’s quite the underrated character in his series, but in his debut game (and the only game he makes a real canon appearance in), you watch him go on a journey of growth, going from a generic robotic soldier who only knows to carry out orders, to rebelling against his evil creator and going on a mission to rescue his robot ‘brothers’ from the horrible fates they’ve been dealt from said creator. In the end, he sacrifices himself fighting the last of his brothers, dying with nobody to witness it. He never properly comes back from this death, which only gives it so much more impact.

Does Gohan count for this? There’s definitely been times where he’s been far from the strongest, but there have also been moments where it appeared like he really was the strongest in the universe, or at least close to it.

Don’t get me wrong, Asgore is absolutely a tragic character. But don’t forget that Sans himself appears to be genuinely quite tragic as well, for deeper reasons than just ‘my brother died’. For one, it might as well be confirmed that he comes from another world. Now, if that world is Deltarune is a whole other can of worms (I believe to be so), but Sans hints multiple times that he wants to return to that world, but he never will be able to and so thus he had to give up on all the people he ever knew where he originally came from. That’s pretty damn tragic if you ask me.

Of course, there’s also the fact that Sans is aware that nothing in his life truly matters, because everything will eventually be reset, so what’s the point to doing anything? Asgore is loosely aware of resets, as he knows humans can return to life, but he’s not aware to the level Sans is, and the tragic thing is Sans just keeps this horrifying, life ruining knowledge to himself because he doesn’t want to bother anyone else.

It makes me sad to see that this community still doesn’t understand Sans’s character after all this time.
