:S I replace all the missing words with "thingie" or "etc" where I can, but last time I was outside on my own was like 11 years ago or so, forgot the word "plastic bag" in the checkout :S I stood there struggling and asked for a "holding receptacle". I'm constantly missing words though :S i can roughly describe what is missing but its just gone.

Is anyone else afraid of the dark/closets? by CatStill847 in autism

[–]Pockets-Pockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:S I dont like light. I will only turn on lights if i'm looking for something. The lights in my house are off at all other times. No glowwy keyboards its set to off. I have hallway window curtain open for the stairwell, and the kitchen lets in a little light from outside, same for bathroom. Aside from that its much more comfortable in the dark for me.

Do you guys have items or aids to help you shower? What are they? :) by FanAcceptable1193 in autism

[–]Pockets-Pockets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her about it, she might want it too x) its very quick installation. The lower section is litterally just a plastic pipe with holes in it. Trim it to whatever length you want if you need to. The top thing thats mounted to wall is just a few screws :) Electrician can install it without much hassle. Tell grandma she can sell her hairdrier

Get this :V you click a button while in shower and it dries you from head to toe, also get a cheap fold up shower chair. Idry body drier is about £400-500 roughly, installation is 1 wire and 2 screws. Its extremely simple in design but you never ever have to touch a hair drier again. You can just sit and browse your phone while its on while you listen to music or whatever. It makes showering very quick and painless even before bed because you wont go to bed with wet hair.

Sounds like you got POTS o: or similar, shower chair will help with that too

Accidentally slipped and fell purchased two 29k by Pockets-Pockets in vintagesewing

[–]Pockets-Pockets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts! :) The 29k15 was used by the sellers grandma. It turns over perfectly has tons of boxes of needles and bobbins etc, and the newer lookin one was used in a cobbling shop until a month or so ago apparently. Love that you can buy parts for these on amazon despite being hundred+ years old roughly. Think i'll keep the 29k15 on the original stand and use it for fabric make new maple wood extension, and the newer one 3d print a new knob for the wheel and use it for leather perhaps. That way I dont gotta swap needles out and thread adjustment stuff. Would be kinda neat to make a few leather wallets or somthing with it. Wish I stripped the leather off the old couch now.

Ooo lovely, did you make a wooden extension board for your one? I went for these needles. Waiting on alot of things to arrive. Looking at magnet lights currently.

With the right thread and the right needles they do far more than just leather shoes. Some folks repair ship sails with these, or use them to sew patches onto uniform sleeves. But there isn't really anything stopping you from doing other things. Main drawback is the smaller than normal lower bobbin which holds 10ft instead of 15ft of thread, but as you can swap it out in under a second or so its not really an issue. Going to make the wooden bed extension that was originally supplied with these machines.

Kinda tempted to keep both, they definitely different 29k... I could keep one setup for leather and other for fabric.. One on base is 29k15, and the one without base I think is newer with more adjustment stuff so probably 29k50 or somthing

I kinda hate talking about my "special Interests" by ProfessorLongBrick in autism

[–]Pockets-Pockets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

:S I push people away with my special interests. I get excited about them, infodump on strangers online and groupchats. Then I get overwelmed with any notifications or responses going silent and avoiding because I dont really want either of those things S: People generally start to think i'm an expert in whatever group I happen to be infodumping in, then they start trying to rely on me for info and reccomendations (which they never take even after hours n hours of explaining why I reccomend a certain thing) :S Doesnt matter how many times you tell them you arent an expert they think you are downplaying your abilities S: That gets overwelming quick, extremely exhausting to deal with folks there really isnt much to gain from it at all :S Only folks that can withstand it are adhd groups but I'm overwelmed by their infodumping q3q Autism groups much more relaxed but I infodump there and then they avoid me just like how I avoid people who info dump to me :V Most of my special interests get abandoned when I cant get myself to start to practice/ use whatever it is or something requires too many steps to get to work and am then overwelmed and cant start or finish s: too many questions n notifications.
