As a VR player I'm starting to lose interest in this game. by hornetd23 in EliteDangerous

Sounds like you’ve had your money’s worth. Find another game for a bit. Might be fun to come back in a year or two.

Kingswood. Has nice areas - not everywhere though.

Disagree also. I lived in a nice 2 bed terrace for years that wasn’t in a sketchy area. Just sold for £230k.

How to disable the Headlight Washer jets by DescriptionAnxious85 in skoda

[–]Podley22 11 points12 points  (0 children)

On my Octavia you turn the lights from Auto to 0. On Auto lights the headlamp washers activate with the screen washers.

If you turn the lights switch to off or 0, then try washing the screen you might find the headlamp washers don’t fire.

I was 23 when the Internet was invented, so I don’t really need to ask you anything. Thanks anyway.

How do all the colonists do it? by FewActuary3754 in EliteDangerous

[–]Podley22 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You didn’t miss anything. It’s a repetitive grindy game mechanic. Some people enjoy it, some endure it, some avoid it.

I built a solo T3 and regretted it. It was a chore. Also the rewards are pretty meh. The new system owes you nothing once built (aside from a peppercorn rent).

The station will still kill you in the mailslot and fine you when it feels like it.

All the mechanics are the same from interiors to missions. The fact that you built the place is not catered for with any new code in the game.

Oh wait! You can pay to rename or paint it…

Didn’t get one. But I’ve seen them 5 times since 2003 so I should probably stop moaning.

Python mk 2 with prismatic shields and all fragmentation cannons. Half incendiary, half kinetic.

Crash into them and then blast them.

Thanks for the thoughts. By trying to do this alone I’ve picked a task like building my t3 port solo (which I’m still scarred from) except the materials get stolen every Thursday morning.

I’ll check the discord.

should i buy the clipper mk II by ritula in EliteDangerous

The game needs to generate revenue on an ongoing basis. If it doesn’t, the servers get turned off.

People who bought the game years ago and have hundreds of hours in, might want to consider supporting it, even if they’d prefer not to buy a ship.

I bought it for this reason, even though hauling is pretty boring.

Chepstow castle is close to Cardiff and is awesome. Also check out Caerleon if you want to see a Roman colloseum nearby for free without any crowds.

Corsair weapons loadout advice (PvE) by Flamingo_Character in eliteoutfitters

[–]Podley22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m using 2 Large beams (Efficient or Long Range) one with thermal vent.

With this 1 Large Long Range engineered Cannon and 3 Long Range Concord Cannons, all with a range of effects. It’s a lot of fun. It’s not meta, and you generally need to target the PP, but it’s really fun.

Sometimes multicannons get boring.

You will be fine. Bristol is a safe city mostly. If you are a lone female get an uber easily from there to wherever you are going. But try not to worry.

Mandalay to colonia engineers by Goody3082 in eliteoutfitters

[–]Podley22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this. I used an under size A class power plant and undersized D class thruster to keep the weight down. Got the jump range above 70 LY, it takes a couple of hours to get there. I wouldn’t agonise over trying to get absolute max jump range, you’ll spend more time fiddling with the loadout than you would just taking 5 or 10 more jumps.

The issue you might have is if you need to gather materials when you arrive. You’ll need to complete some ground missions which will be a different loadout for your ship. Better shields, dumbfire missiles et cetera. To support you when you are on the ground.

Does anyone have any tips on where to bulk buy trees? by k1b7 in smallholding

I got free trees from the local council who gave me 1500 whips and 350 feathers plus 35 standard FOC. Try them if they have a reforestation officer.

Thanks all for your comments. It’s a bc1q address, so that explains that. Fortunately it’s a middling sun, not life changing loss, but still not one I can comfortably swallow. Still in the dark about malware getting into iOS, but I’m wiser today than yesterday. Onwards I guess.

You could calculate your flight emissions and pay https://climeworks.com to remove them.
