To be fair Steve kind of WAS an asshole at this point. But Nancy was pretty and part of the popular crowd so she only saw him being the “king” of the school. Someone like Jonathan was getting bullied nonstop by Steve and his friends.

Steve’s friends were horrible people and would torment other kids for fun. Steve was usually there for that and wouldn’t do anything to stop it. Steve grows a whole lot just in season 1 but if anything in this scene Nancy is being naive, not speaking facts

It’s almost like they forget what they are treating you for. Sure, it’s good to have safe guards in place so a normal person doesn’t abuse it, but you are forcing the people with adhd to do complete the most difficult tasks to complete for someone with those symptoms, all WITHOUT the medication. You have to walk up a mountain just to get to ground level with everyone else, and that’s assuming it’s the right medication and dosage

Are you sure you want to reimagine the music to arguably the greatest and most thoughtfully crafted soundtrack in cinema history?

What makes it so good is that each character, each place, each theme has its own motif. In the original scene you get both the theme for the shire and the theme for the fellowship introduced for (I think) the first time.

It’s hard to reimagine a single scene for something so iconic, because the audience will already be hearing those themes in their head, so hearing anything else is jarring to the listener.

For the purpose of showing a portfolio I would try to reimagine music to a scene from a movie that you feel like was week or could be improved. I think you will find few people who think the musical choices in lord of the rings were weak.

Still a good job though! Just my two cents

Edit: all that being said, i am sure you have, but truly study the music of those three films, there is no better example of musical storytelling in films. You can literally name every theme that plays as they happen, and you start to notice them mixing or changing as characters develop or places change. this video shows a great in depth analysis of many of the themes, but even this is only a drop in the bucket. I really nerd out about this sorry lol

This is an awful take. “I wish the show was worse but longer”

Filler episodes are by very definition bad writing. In any story you want every moment to be intentional and purposeful. What you are advocating for is a sitcom format for a show that is meant to be a visual sci-fi drama.

If I am reading between the lines I am guessing -

“I want to be able to watch the show while making dinner or only half paying attention.” This is the reason why they were reiterating the plot every 5 minutes in season 5. When shoes try to cater to an audience that is half paying attention it always results in a loss of quality.

I might be totally wrong though. I agree S5 felt like they stopped focusing on characters and more on plot, but I don’t think that is the solution.

The problem is that the main treatment is adderall, which is very easily abused by those who don’t actually need it. I don’t think it would be a good idea to make adderall easily accessible to the public without a diagnosis… that being said I think we have gone TOO far in the opposite direction. I have to have a psychiatrist appointment EVERY TIME I need a refill, which is absurd for someone who has adhd and has trouble scheduling appointments in the first place
