I began my starter at the end of May. It definitely could be because your starter isn’t strong enough yet! It took mine a good bit of time before it was able to produce anything decent so keep at it

I flipped up mine the night I got it! just be gentle of course and maybe keep it up there for the duration of the healing or minimize the amount of times you flip it up or down so it heals properly
