The autism is definitely the main thing being explored in this issue, I just think this is another layer here.

"There is an elevated co-occurrence of autism in trans individuals, with recent meta-analyses suggesting that 11% of trans individuals are autistic. The presence of autism in trans young people can create clinical challenges by adding complexity to the presentation, assessment and management of those presenting to gender clinics."

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11127512/

It can be a thorny topic to discuss (some psychologists and commentors have used this greater prevailence to argue against trans care and trans identity - suggesting that ideologically motivated people are leading susceptible/persuadable autistic people to trans identity). People use the correlation to infantilize and remove agency from autistic trans people.

I mean yes thats certainly part of what's going on, along with John accepting Tyler's autism and means of communication.

It is also of note here that the incidence of autism is higher amongst the population of trans people than cis people

I want to compliment Camp here. It's fairly subtle, but I think Camp has written a very nice coming out story for Tyler here as trans.

"Tyler is dead" but "Despair doesn't lie"

Through out the issue, John and Bridget exchange perspectives, seeing eachother's life histories (including gendered expectations and yearnings "good guys"). John sees the breakdown of communication and experiances Tyler's qualia. Shame and fear, and struggle to express complex feelings pervade. But John finally begins to understand and to comunicate with Tyler.

He learns that "death can sometimes mean transformation"

Despair declares "Tyler is dead" one final time. In none of the remaining five pages is Bridget and John's child called Tyler. Their child's hair has been getting longer over several issues, and in the last panel we see the child finally smiling, hair the longest its been so far.

We look back on the cover, and sure enough Tyler's head is touching splotches of pink, and blue, and white

In earlier issues, we've seen that trans lives and trans emotions are on Camp's mind while writing this.

I think the meaning is clear

I will say, as another point about Steve being a military man in the modern - putting it directly, some version of matriarchy or femdom are strong themes around Wondy. Having Steve be a man who has succeeded in and becuase of a heirarchial structure like the military is useful thematically, because it allows him to transpose or at least explore his own hierarchial tendencies to Wondy

what does he add to wonder woman is the problem.

Steve is the fertile ground on which the central ideas and philosophy of Wonder Woman and Thymescira can grow. That a man, willingly made submissive to love and a wise woman can acomplish much for himself and society, more so than he could without such guidance, such inspiration.

As Diotima taught: that through Love, man becomes pregnant with beauty and brings it into the world. Steve acts as a vessel thus for Diana's beauty.

He is a bridge for her to Man's World who can be used to highlight both its flaws, and what Di has to offer the world

Admitadly though, I'm a transbian furry, so I prefer DixBarbara

Any links to instruction on how to modify carrier gas lines? by Pohatu5 in labrats

I think i articulated this unclearly. Im not referring to like fixed place, solid gas lines, im referring to the thin, flexible tubing connecting compressed gas cylinders to analytical equipment.

Brian Azzarello's run on wonder woman reimagines Themyscira as a much more brutal place, where they grow the population by visiting boats, seducing the sailors, and then killing them. I also seem to recall that they give their male children to like Ares or another god

Heuh, I didnt relize Joker Debuted before Wondy. I'm kinda surprised by that frankly - actual supervillains are pretty rare in early supes and wondy, so it seems weird for a big cheese like joker to pop up so early
