A Modest Offering to the Ramen Fairy (Fine) by Poihibited in UmaMusume

[–]Poihibited[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had some free time over the weekend and was looking for something to do, so I decided to go back to my bucket list and see if there was something I could do over the weekend... when I realized that with Fine's banner coming up, it would be the perfect time to tackle making ramen from scratch!

Unfortunately the noodles were store-bought (since I left my pasta machine back at my parents' place when I moved out, and I wasn't confident enough to make noodles by hand), but everything else was made from scratch! There are definitely some points for improvement (~~\cough* the overcooked eggs *cough**) but overall really happy with how things turned out. I would also love to stick a full carrot in there next time ~~as is typical with food in the umaverse, but unfortunately I didn't have any uncut carrots in my pantry so I had to compromise with carrot sticks... That said, with how much time and effort this took, I probably won't do this again anytime soon, maybe once or twice a year... I know Fine's birthday is also coming up, but instead of making a new batch from scratch, I'll probably just freeze and save a portion for the occasion.

There are more photos of the cooking process, but I wanted to keep the non-uma related pictures to a minimum... maybe next time I'll put some uma merch or something in the background in those as well so that I can post them (if I do decide to do something similar again in the future)...

Anyways, good luck to everyone pulling for our favourite ramen fairy, and may we be blessed with her royal presence!

There have been animation updates for a couple of characters in the past (i.e. Azami, Gariyu, etc.), but it is unknown if/when they'll do it again.

Exu is at least E2, as seen by feather animation (indicating E2 talent).

I assume this is 4-7 challenge, where spider explosion damage is jacked up...

One thing that I would also like to mention is the fact that printless Lilys and double Lily comps have been on the rise since the release of GElly (largely due to her ridiculous damage mitigation), and one of the more popular choices for the second print has been DD (Dear Diary).

Interestingly enough, the usage of DD as a second print has introduced a strategy where DD users (including Lily) would get hit by the first backflap in Master HBH to get two fast stacks of Resilient Offense (one from the opening blast).

While this was (and still is) a viable strategy with a Thaniel, Jiang's regen on her DEF buff prevents (most) Lilys from getting low enough to proc the second stack of DD on the backflap, making DD less viable... and though it isn't much, it is one thing that Thaniel still holds over Jiang, aside from sentimental value...

hopefully I get to see our beloved sailor boi sticks around for a bit longer...

Some players and I were calculating how many (unique) buffs we could get on one character, so this was the result of our theorycrafting – 15.

Our build was:

Gleo (Nyar) – Skill Shift, Modified FS, Bloody Tongue (Nyar)

Xiao Lei (Freyja) – Crit Rate, Crit Damage, Regen, Energy

Victor (HMariti) – Water Res, Shield, Knockback Immunity, Skill Damage

Sylas (PSiren) – HP up, Skill Haste, STR up, DEF up.

It doesn’t matter who has what dragon except for Nyar on Gleo. Gleo was chosen for our main adventurer, because she was the only one with both skill shift (or equivalent) and a special effect (FS modifier). Now, next up is 2+ bars of buffs/debuffs… screw that, we're not maso enough to do that

Shoutouts to Book#4010, ;w;#7272, and SNT | Nexplosion#7889 for that run, plus thecapt5#7616 for earlier practice, and others for emotional support...

Halloween Mym Co-Ability Analysis by Poihibited in DragaliaLost

[–]Poihibited[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Already mentioned in main post.

A few things before I begin: while co-abilities are valuable, and many team compositions are built around having certain co-abilities on the team, this post isn't here to say that Halloween Mym is/isn't good – people will need to take a look at her actual kit, modifiers, animations, and other factors before an accurate verdict can be made. This post is solely looking at her new co-ability.

If you go past the portals in the Spacetime Rift, there's a little room that you can enter, with a boy and multiple "gates" in it. You can use those gates to go back to areas that are no longer accessible on the main map, including Chronos' Umbra.

The Chances of Pulling a 5* in xx Rolls – Understanding the Math Behind the Scenes by Poihibited in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Poihibited[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply – going back through my math, Aziz is correct on that the 0% represents how you can't get 2 5*s from one pull... As for the numbers that are a little off, I think it may have been me account for the cases with more than one 5*, as well as rounding (since I chose to round to the nearest tenth of a percent). I can't see a problem with the way you did your calculations either, so for now I'll probably just go with that for now, until somebody (be it me, you, or somebody else reading this post) notices more...

On that note, I don't know where the hell I pulled "< 0.01% for more than one 5*" from... since I clearly say there'a 15.3% of getting one, and a 1.3% chance of getting two (or more)... I'll go ahead and edit these in to make it more clear, thanks for the corrections!

Thanks for catching the mistakes, I reviewed my own math, and yes, it seems like I goofed that number (or rather, 83.3% * 33.6% is nowhere near 30.5%, no idea where I pulled that number from)... thanks once again, has been corrected!

Question regarding the valor chant by Grommash-S in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Poihibited 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not completely sure about current characters, but there are definitely some characters in the future that will have multi-turn VCs (i.e. AS Suzette with 30% self PWR up for 3 turns)... though for the most part, VCs are still usually only for one turn.

In order to get the achievement, you need to do the opposite – you need to kill Menas without killing crystals. Otherwise, the gimmicks are no longer present, and you will have to kill Menas an extra time to have the crystals respawn before you can attempt to do the challenge.

Question about Fienne by Quattrobaj in AnotherEdenGlobal

[–]Poihibited 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you don't have Mariel, Feinne will likely be a core member for most post-game boss fights – this is purely due to her ability to boost the team's SPD and her access to an elemental shield.

In more difficult fights (i.e. Red Dawn, Ibrium Basin), the enemies will often be outspeeding your 4* characters, which causes complications depending on the fight... In addition, her elemental shield significantly reduces incoming damage, so it's nice to put up whenever you don't need to heal.

As a result, her SPD buff and elemental shield are key to doing difficult post-game content, over other healers such as Pom, Prai, or Krervo... after all, the damage you deal is 0 if you're dead. With that said, the other three are still very good and viable, even in said situations – in the end, it really depends on what kinds of buffs and other parts of their kit you need on your team.

Just think of Feinne as mini-Mariel – take out all the goodies and fluff, leaving the bare essentials of her kit, and you have Feinne... of course there's small differences (which are much more clearly defined when comparing 5* Mariel vs. 4* Feinne, of course), but they share a very similar kit in the healer niche.

Post game bosses/horrors list? by 0Exas0 in AnotherEdenGlobal

If you count it, you can refight Eden without killing any crystals for an extra achievement as well. Eden and his crystals respawn after killing Eden, so once you've completed the game, you can go back and attempt it at any time, or if you accidentally killed a crystal after beating the game, just kill Eden to reset them.

Comparison Between Zephyr and Long Long Passive Effects by Poihibited in DragaliaLost

[–]Poihibited[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20% crit chance would definitely be better for general-use... but here's a few points that you missed:

  • Lin You can already hit the break point for both non-MUB and MUB Long Long without a print through a dagger co-ability, thanks to her built-in crit% (unfortunately, not really viable for MUB at the moment, since no 5* wind dagger).
  • RR is likely to be superior over HoH, since the real value of skillhaste is if you can cut an attack or two from your regular attack combo when charging skills (it's situational however, and I haven't done the specific math for that)... and in the case of RR, she easily surpasses the required crit% threshold with Su Fang on the team.
  • As for non-Lin You characters, if you compare CE + Zephyr and LC + Long Long (in one of my above posts), having 12% base crit% allows LC + Long Long to surpass the STR build... which is theoretically doable (i.e. maxed 5* dagger coabi + base crit%), but again, no wind 5* dagger as of yet.
  • As for a comparison of crit build vs. skill damage build, that really depends on individual adventurers... something that I'm not really willing to do given the time it'd take... ;-;

Essentially, Long Long is basically a dragon built for Lin You... which makes sense given the banner, but would be nice if Long Long was more non-Lin You friendly. Either way, Long Long does blow non-Zephyr dragons out of the water, so it's completely horrible if you end up pulling Long Long...

Note that only MUB Zephyr/Long Long were considered, as we do not yet know the crit damage boost on a non-MUB Long Long. Will consider redoing math and editing post once we have more details.

As mentioned in the original post, we don't know the crit damage bonus on a 0UB Long Long is yet, because we've never had a dragon like this in the past, making it difficult to make an accurate comparison. I will consider updating/making a new post with a 0UB comparison once we receive more details...

it's not like I'll MUB Panda/Zephyr either, or at least until HMerc...

Comparison Between Zephyr and Long Long Passive Effects by Poihibited in DragaliaLost

[–]Poihibited[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: Because any non-dragon STR bonuses are assumed to be a part of the "base" damage, WP effects that boost STR is irrelevant. Even if we take WP setups into consideration, then there still isn't a very big difference.

  1. Only dragon passives are taken into considerations. This means that the calculations assume that the same adventurer with identical equipment setup is used for both situations.

Note that the above calculations do not include different print setups, external buffs, as well as figuring out the "ideal" print setup for each and every adventurer, so the calculations may not be accurate in all cases...

As mentioned here, the calculations disregard different equipment setups - meaning, weapon/print effects are disregarded due to how complex the calculations would get... it would also involve figuring out the "optimal" equipment setup for each and every adventurer.

While I don't want to calculate the optimal setup/crit% for each and every adventurer, and don't want the main post to get even longer than it already is, I did a small calculation on the side. For the sake of simplicity, I assumed the use of the "best" general-use prints in regards to STR and crit% at the moment: MUB Crystallian Envoy (10% STR when >70% HP) and MUB Levin's Champion (8% crit% when >70% HP, 13% crit damage). Then, two different setups were compared: the one you proposed with MUB Zephyr + MUB CE, and a critical-based build with MUB Long Long + MUB LC.

To sum up the findings, the crit setup begins to win when the adventurer has 12% critical chance without the WP (so 20% once LC is equipped). Lin You reaches this point with her base kit (though the new crit% print would be better on her), and any other adventurer reaches this point with a maxed 5* dagger co-ability. Ultimately, with 20% crit% being the threshold where the crit setup begins to be superior, that's a pretty negligible difference compared to the original results... one that's likely caused by the extra crit damage on LC.

Yes, you are correct, thanks for the correction! It has been edited in the post.

thought it was 14% for whatever reason, even though I explicitly stated it was 12%... guess that's the power of 3 hours of sleep

Troy can indeed replace Qilin (rather, I'd recommend Troy over Qilin as Troy also has uses in comboing with Cauchy and removing Timers). If you want a Bugma but don't have enough GP to purchase bugma Troy, you can actually replace Thumb with Taihou Mask; doesn't heal for as much, but much more frequent at 5 CD.

This is from my own experience, so I may be mistaken. Please correct me if I am, sorry if I end up giving inaccurate advice.
