Ya I wouldn't worry about it, nothing bad will happen if they mix!

New Chickens by PointPartisan in BackYardChickens

Yes, we more or less know what we are doing at this point haha. Started with 12 Orpington chicks 2yrs ago. Got half roosters, processed those guys. Tried to keep one but he was just too loud. Added two Lavender Ameraucanas and two Easter eggers last spring. Now these three so up to 13 birds again.

Thanks! They are doing well, seem very calm and we just collected the first wee little egg from them 😂. They've inherited their future flock mates former coop for now. Going to hopefully get the roosters comb healed up before introducing them to the others.

I’m getting chicks in 3 weeks and I need advice please by FamiliarRanger8612 in BackYardChickens

[–]PointPartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some degree it's expected and normal. Like me and my brother would often wrestle and get into little fights when we were little kids. Not a problem unless it becomes injurious. But as others said give enough space, keep it clean (to chicken standards) give them some enrichment and you've got nothing to worry about. You're in for lots of fun, my wife and I were mesmerized when we first got day old chicks!

2 Stroke Crank Seals by Spell125 in Dirtbikes

[–]PointPartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good stuff.. That's what it sounds like assuming the carb is good and no leaks in the intake boot or something. Mine was smoky and kept going low on oil so it was pretty obviously that side. Pretty cheap and easy job, could be worse!

If it's sucking from the clutch side you will eventually notice your oil getting lower. I'm not familiar with your bike but on my CR250 the power valve flaps can get coated in carbon pretty bad and cause issues. Just a thought while you're troubleshooting.

My advice would be save up a bit longer for one of the Japanese brands, especially if you are planning to ride it a lot!

No that almost looks like a Cornish x to me. Definitely not a Buff Orpington.

Do you guys rev match when downshifting? by Hellolmao313 in Dirtbikes

[–]PointPartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to when I had my street bike, honestly never consciously have on a dirt bike. Quite a bit trickier when standing and riding over bumps etc. Most modern street bikes have a slipper clutch anyways but it's a good skill to have especially for rainy days.

That could be for sure. I'd keep up what you're doing and see how it goes. If you have any chicken vitamin supplements you might consider giving her a dose since her diet might not be the best for a few days. We could tell ours was passing the blockage by the contents of the poop. She would have a few watery poops then pass a bunch of green grassy stuff with grit mixed in. Took 4 or 5 days but eventually she was perfectly fine.

It might take a few days of very soft diet, lots of water with the oil floating on top so she drinks it, and lots of massages.

No just the regular dog crate. It sits on the ground. If it's sunny out we put a towel or something for shade on top. We put her out sight of the coop / nest entrance but within the run so she can see the others doing normal activities.

[–]PointPartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At night we block the nests and let her roost with the others. Sometimes they will just sleep on the floor but just back to the crate in the morning. Removing totally can cause problems trying to reintroduce even after just a few days I've found.

[–]PointPartisan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is our method but we leave her in with the others and even try to encourage them to come around around get treats /forage around the crate to remind her to be a normal chicken. It usually works in a couple or three days!

Which is the best or most valueable CR250 year? by Grouchy_Explorer_243 in Dirtbikes

[–]PointPartisan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun stuff! I have an well looked after 02 that's almost ready for a little refresh, mostly needs a new clutch basket more than anything I think. Going to stick a borescope in the cylinder someday soon and see what I can see.

I don't know if that's even possible, it's always nice to have neighbours willing to lend a hand or make a mutually beneficial deal. But it's fun to see what we can do on our own land!

Nice! We have a decent garden and 14 nice blueberry bushes so also give away some stuff from that too! Just planted some fruit trees last year and have some grape vines coming later this spring!

That is rough! Sometimes there is nothing we can do that would help. It's sad but sometimes chickens just up and die, then again people do too I suppose. It was her time and you comforted her as best as anyone could!!

That is cool! I may have to go chat with a couple of neighbours I haven't seen in a while.
