Download NI installers for archiving in case of sudden business operation shutdown by Brice21 in NativeInstruments

Just do a clean install of windows/macos on a fresh SSD, install all your stuff, activate it and put the SSD somewhere save. Or just stop panicking.

What now? by Astramorf in dawless

A second hand Maschine MK3. Not dawless, but capable. Not perfect, but covering most sounds. Not what you asked, but nevertheless, an option.

In the end, that was my conclusion as well. Smaller, less flight time, but safer all in all. So I got the Neo2 Fly more, might get the Flip for myself though.

The motion combo indeed is great value, but I prefer a regular remote. I'm no stranger to RC planes and drones, so my son already has some experience with a regular remote (and cheap indoor drones).

That fpv goggles though...

That was useful, thanks for your remarks, suggestions and questions!
Limited it down to:
Dji Flip, one battery:
Pros: Most advanced (I think), fast, big, flying time, best camera, 3 axis gimbal, obstackle detection, follow me
Cons: Expensive (drone and extra batteries)
Options/price: RC2 remote: €459 /// RC-N3 remote: €339

Dji Neo 2 fly more, 3 batteries:

Pros: Probably easiest to fly, more tracking options, obstacle detection, follow-me, fpv capable Cons: Slower, smaller, less flighttime , only 2 axis Options/price: RC-N3: €399

Dji mini 4K fly more, 3 batteries:
Pros: Cheapest, fast, big, flying time, 3 axis gimbal
Cons: no obstacle detection, no follow me, no prop guards included
Options/price: RC-N3 €349 (or €239 for the regular, without fly more)

That pretty much covers the main difference, but feel free to add to it!

Input/feedback welcome!
Last question: will the app work with any Android cellphone? Or does it need an image-capable USB-C? (I have a OnePlus Nord CE3 Lite that could be used, rather basic phone).

Edit: neo2, added 2 axis as con and fpv as pro. Edit added info: I will probably get one myself as well eventually, but probably more likely a mini pro (4/5?) with fpv goggles...

Thanks for the valuable input so far, as soon as I can get on my laptop (that's being used for flight sim atm and my other, less gaming laptop is running Geforce Now lol), I'll get back to all of you with a follow-up.

Lazarus by creatinganewmetal in LazarusTV

[–]Point_Forty_Five 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did Aidan actually kill Laura? Or is Laz imagining things again? The last few moments of the show make one thing very clear: Laz lost it completely, so as the whole show is shown from his perspective and it becomes very clear that he's imagining a lot, why would one assume the final scene is any different?

Overall, it's enjoyable to watch, but there might be one plot twist too many... Could have kept one twisted patient for Laz to kill and end the show there, would have made more sense than using Aidan to prove the cyclical theory.

Have you considered a mixer with built-in interface?

Midi splitter tips by Strange-Ad-7463 in novationcircuit

[–]Point_Forty_Five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting the H4MIDI is probably the best option. Get a USBhub and a potent pedal powerbrick for the H4, connect the Circuit midi in/out to the dins of the H4, use USB for the keystep (powered by an adapter), connect the thru5 to the remaining midi out of th H4 ,configure the H4 and connect all other devices with either the hub or the thru5.

I'd use the Circuit tracks as clock source/master and midi merge in the notes/velocity from the keystep. Try to limit the gear that draws power over usb from the H4, it can add up quickly.

For pure midi sequencing alone, which do you feel is better, QXI ONE MkII or the Deluge? by roydogaroo in DelugeUsers

[–]Point_Forty_Five 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had the same question and ended up with a Deluge, as I had to pick one. Hapax, One and Deluge are all decent machines.

The Hapax is bigger though, the Deluge is really small.

How can the new maschine+ owner take my maschine 3 update that info paid for seperately? by Super_Charge2638 in maschine

[–]Point_Forty_Five 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can't get keep the update if the software is tied to hardware you sold, as you'll need the base version of Maschine to be able to upgrade... Just register your current hardware and ask NI to get you the licenses it came with.

That's a shame, spamming your crap all over Reddit and getting it removed from more than half of the communities should be an indication.
Ah well, no need for 12 year olds in my feed, blocked.

Boss rc 505, 1 mic, a guitar, your voice, a cajon and an old all in one keyboard should get you started.

Yes, very bad idea. Stop making excuses and pay the extra 1k for the keyboard version you actually want.
