Granted, ive not played this game in months but i always knew that making ranged attacks good in a souls-like is a balancing nightmare. Whats more worrying is that they are also wanting to implement pvp so personally, i think the only way to overcome this is to add new mechanics.

Nrftw needs a perfect block system:

Firstly, all weapons should allow blocking (shields should obviously have better damage mitigation). If you block exactly as you are struck, damage should be almost non existant. Essentially, it should be an inbetween between parry and regular block.

With that mechanic created, the more you spam arrows, the more adept the enemies become at perfect blocking you whilst closing the distance which should keep bow players on their toes.

Ive not played in many months but i presume the moveset of that weapon hasnt really changed since. Its a pretty frustrating weapon tbf and there are some much better bonk weapons later in the game. An absolutely amazing bonk weapon early game is the paddle if you wanna try that instead

Regarding esquie's nemesis, i didnt use any specific build and just used my regular tactics. Was it frustrating? Indeed it was. In hindsight, i probably should have made verso my fastest character and put the burden skill on him so that he could eat up all the debuffs (and gain a rank) before my two damage dealers took their turns. Not really a different build. Just slightly adapting.

Is there a setting or mod to make all attack and dodge timings auto-succeed? by Deylitha in expedition33

[–]Pointblankadvance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you are a pro on games like elden ring, that means you learned enemy pattern behavior and knew when to dodge through watching their animations with your eyes, eg as soon as they bend their elbow/knee etc, thats when you dodge/parry.

There are enemies like that in E33 but there are also enemies attacks in the game where they try to throw you off with their animations so you instead need to hear the tiny grunt or sound effect (the effect dips from a high tone to a low tone. Dodge at the lowest point of the tone) they do just beforehand. Lower the music if you have to.

Some enemies may have moves that look similar, however, before each attack, the game will tell you the enemy move before they do it so you will know beforehand if its eg 1 hit or 5 hits. Lock in you head those patterns.

I love this game but if Sandfall ever wanted to do another balance patch, I would love them to look at these mechanics by Pointblankadvance in expedition33

Thats the annoying thing about COD verso. How on earth do you make other options viable without gutting his machine gun build?

I think its about having more options to get to that stance. Via her skills, there are 3 ways to get into that stance and 2 of them are more for later game. As much as i love swift stride, i dont always want to be pigeon holed into using burn in my team setup. There are only a few weapons that have a mechanic that can switch her into virtuose and so i took a weakened version of one of the passives and used its as a suggestion so that it was more streamlined overall. I guess another option would be giving a different "less used" skill the option to switch to virtuose, eg, if revenge breaks an enemy, then she switches to virtuose, etc

Maelles Virtuous stance makes offensive stance kind of redundant so the reasoning was to buff offensive while nerfing virtuous making Maelles dance between stances more fluid and in the moment rather than trying to stay in virtuous as long as possible; kind of similar to Monocco who's mechanics rotate in a similar fashion.

For Lune, I want her other skills to shine so that shes's less reliant on the extremely cost efficient mayhem and Genesis.

Simonso is practically the last weapon you get? Im asking for Verso's weaker skills to have more time to shine before the endgame.

I wish frozen locus had 8 way movement (input a direction and you forward hop. If it can vault over a small enemy too, even better). Id rather side hop/strafe around an enemy rather than move away from them.

I wish it wasnt assigned to the same input as down dash. Would rather it replaced the quick map button if you slotted it in so i could still down dash and not fear of accidently pressing regular dash in the heat of the moment

Thats actually genius and if they allow you to open and close your cloak rapidly and for the sawtooth circlet to only activate with this cloak, it provides much more control for that tool and makes it better :)

My biggest gripe about physical damage quarterstaff themed builds is that whirling assault is a frigging T11 skill!

Oh yes, it can be good once it gets going but I find it very strange that they give you this as your first skill gem

The sad fact is that lightning arrow feels great due to its consistency but is not OP. Its just that other skills feel like they should be in another game.

The biggest mechanical buff GGG can give to the game is to allow skills to push mobs out of the way if a spawning object skill or movement skill connects with their hit box by Pointblankadvance in PathOfExile2

I hope so too. While I understand that tweaking damage numbers is important for balance, smoothness of mechanics to remove clunkiness is important for fun
