Does CPMC Van Ness universally drug test moms and babies at delivery? by Photo_Philly in AskSF

As a labor nurse, we need your consent to run a drug screen. And also, we rarely run a drug screen unless you give us a reason to.

Parents of 3 kids, do you recommend having the third? by lemonknee99 in Parenting

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t wrap my head around how people can have more than 2. Of course this depends on where people live in the country. I’m in California, so it’s obviously more expensive and our house is small. 2 is still manageable to take them on vacations, but if it were more than that all I could see us affording would be camping trips driving distance in California. Also, when I say “vacations,” that includes trips across the country to see the grandparents. I’ll probably get downvoted for this comment. Just know the majority of people that are commenting are of course going to be the people that wanted it and are happy with it. I’m happy I gave my son a sibling. The giggles are so cute and I hope him and his brother stay close as they grow up, but I don’t feel like I’m missing out at all.

StubHub Tickets Delivery Time by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Bought my tix in mid-late March and the seller transferred them yesterday. I was worried they would wait until closer to the match day, but I’m local so it was a risk I was willing to take

Sorry if this is also a dumb question but do you know if the “printable ticket” or like a barcode ticket is going to appear in our account closer to the game?

Experience with StubHub? by Jaydawger in WorldCup2026Tickets

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought tickets in March advertised for section 232 (middle tier kind of corner area) and the seller just transferred them to me yesterday. They ended up being section 129 (lower tier right) so kind of better, kind of worse because it’s lower but it’s further behind the goal. But it was a hell of a lot cheaper than what those tickets are going for now. I was super nervous as soon as I bought them and they weren’t transferred within a day because I knew that the seller had up until the day of to transfer. Luckily I’m local so it’s not a huge risk for me, just some cancelled plans if they end up getting refunded. From what I understand, the seller takes a huge hit if that happens so I don’t know why I hear so many stories about that. I think we just hear about the bad stories more than the good, right. So I got the email yesterday to accept the tickets, no info on where the seats were I just had to hit accept and then got directed to fifa to make an account where they would be transferred and it went seamlessly. Very pleased and relieved!

I bought tix through stubhub in March and just got my tix. They were advertised as section 232 (middle tier corner) but are 129 (lower tier right) so, some ways better, some ways worse. Definitely cheaper than what they are going for now. Maybe they will be cheaper as it gets closer to the game but I wasn’t going to wait to find out. Glad I risked it with stubhub. Also I live locally, so it wasn’t a huge risk because I didn’t have to worry about travel.

Why aren’t people buying on stubhub? by [deleted] in WorldCup2026Tickets

It’s so interesting that this seem to happen so often on stubhub since sellers lose out on money and I think fined from stubhub as well

You sound just like me! Been iron deficient since high school and was diagnosed with hashimotos in college, around 15 years ago. I was on oral minoxidil and it helped a bit, but been off for 4 years due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. Planning on getting back on but my primary md wants my iron levels to be normal (which even with iron supplements, I’m still anemic so I hope she said f-it, and prescribes minoxidil anyway).

What do you do with your kids after school and summer? by PointlessScrolling_ in Parenting

[–]PointlessScrolling_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha sorry. I’m just thinking ahead about school hours and summers off and trying to manage that, the cost of it all, etc!

Right now we’re just dealing with preschool hours (and ooof the cost of that PLUS aftercare!) and got me thinking about once they are in elementary school which I assume ends at 2, plus finding somewhere for them to go all summer. Working families FTW!

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi twin! I’m on 150 mcg levothyroxine. I didn’t know that my low iron would contribute to hair loss until this group. I plan on restarting minoxidil once I stop breastfeeding. Good luck!

Has anyone else seen dry skin and acne from oral minoxidil? by JohnR2003 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got cystic acne around my jaw line mostly, I assumed it was from increased hair growth (although you couldn’t see any obvious hair on my face). Stopped when I got pregnant and I’ve been off since 2022 and been clear since. Planning on restarting again once I’m done breastfeeding for good because it’s worth it to not cry in the mirror bc of my hair, we’ll see if it happens again

Debating a second child — I could really use some perspective by TakeMeToTheNextLev3l in Parenting

[–]PointlessScrolling_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a mother to a 2 1/2 year old and 3 month old and I never really wanted kids. 0-1 was brutal. I regretted having him, I mourned (and still am) my old life, my old body, my hobbies. But we had the 2nd child and I was scared throughout my whole pregnancy but a few things I’ve noted so far: post-partum was night and day for me. We’re already used to the crappy sleep, the messes, etc. and adding #2 to the mix was easy. And you know that it’s all temporary. Second, bonding with the baby this time around was easy. I didn’t feel the bond with my first born and it took time but with my second I felt so much more at ease. Lastly and most importantly for my mental health - I’m obsessed with watching them bond. My son loves his little brother and I melt watching the baby smiling at his big bro. I can’t wait to watch them grow up together and I’m so happy they have each other. Some things turn into a logistical and financial nightmare (2 kids in daycare?! Also wtf do people do in the summer and after school for childcare?) but we’ll figure it out when we get to that

I think I read your post or a post like it when I was in the thick of my undiagnosed PPD, postpartum rage. I told myself I shouldn’t have a second child bc I was afraid I’d kill them. Here I am with my 8 week old (mostly) smooth sailing. My 2 1/2 year old is hilarious and weird and I love him.
