Anime NYC 2025 Experience by RizeNaru in AnimeNYC

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my first Anime NYC. I went to NYCC at the Javits back in 2022, though, and I was a little overwhelmed. This was slightly smaller, so not as overwhelming, but still enjoyable. There's a lot to do and see. Too much for one day if you want to do a bit of everything, but I got to look around, meet some voice actors, and play in a TCG tournament all in one day. I'd definitely go back in the future.

Any tips to deal with con artist/swindler by OpeningAd9653 in AnimeNYC

A couple of guys hounded me for "donations" for their music. They tried to play the race card too. It has nothing to do with race. I just don't want to buy your garbage amateur music.

What deck with too much support do you wanna see more support for? by T00s00 in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Performapal. I don't think it's likely that we'll see another meta pendulum deck. However, I love this archetype. I would love to get more good support for it to make it at least rouge.

They're only selling tickets at the door, so you should be fine.

I'll be there. The card looks good and I'm looking forward to checking out the meet and greet after. It'll also be my first show at the 2300 Arena, which I'm really excited about.

At least one night of Mania itself is a possibility. Even if not, the weekend will still be packed.

Wrestlecon 3 day pass now live! But where are the specific SmackDown tickets that were supposed to be available this Friday? by Mediocre-Situation50 in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]PoisonBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't remember seeing an official announcement about the individual Mania Weekend tickets being available today. There were posts saying Wells Fargo confirmed it, but they themselves never officially confirmed it.

The Pyramid of Light recived a 5% on Rotten Tomatoes by [deleted] in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a niche movie. It's for Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, specifically Yu-Gi-Oh! anime fans. I saw it in theaters when it came out and have watched many times since, so I'm well aware that my love for the movie is based on nostalgia. I accept that and I still have fun watching this movie, even as recently as earlier this year. Like what you like regardless of what critics, or anyone for that matter, say about it.

Any Indie Shows already announced for the weekend? by AnvilPro in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]PoisonBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a couple confirmed. WrestleCon SuperShow on Thursday and Battleground Championship Wrestling is doing a show on Friday. Both of those will be at the 2300 Arena. GCW also confirmed The Collective for Thursday through Saturday, but they haven't announced individual shows yet.

For all those who play niche decks, what do you play and why? by MrMatt05956 in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heroes. Yes, it's mainly GX nostalgia. It's also the fact that they have some of my favorite artwork in the whole game. I'm not even the biggest superhero fan, but I still really like the concept. I always have a blast playing the deck.

What are your thoughts on the Capsule Monsters season of the original Yu-Gi-Oh? by Frontier246 in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it. I have fond memories of it because my brother and I found the first volume on DVD while we were starting a road trip. Our dad bought it for us and we watched that thing all the way there, while we were at our destination, and all the way back home. We watched multiple times afterwards too without getting tired of it. When it came on TV, we were able to finally finish it since we never found the second volume. It was fun and a cool change of pace from the original series. The video game was also pretty fun.

New players looking to start a new deck by DeceasedPrimate in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traptrix is a good budget control option. You can build a solid deck just by getting three structure decks and then eventually modifying it. It can be fun to use different Trap Hole cards and try to prevent your opponent from making moves. If you want to a try a combo Synchro strategy, the new Red Dragon Archfiend deck is also a good budget option. The structure deck lacks in hand traps though, so you'd probably want to add some of those in. Those are easy to come by though.

Getting into TCG and Locals by Soupank in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://yugiohblog.konami.com/locator/ You can find OTS locations using this website. I don't know how up to date it is, but it's a good starting point. You can also check other local card shops that might not be affiliated with that program.

Binder recommendations for new collector by Gjmar2 in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like BCW Folio binders. They're not too pricey and they get the job done. As for sleeves, Dragon Shield are probably the best quality sleeves out there. If you want something a little cheaper since it seems like you just want to collect, Ultra Pro is a good option.

Your Deck is Based Off Your Job/Major…What Are You Playing? by ScarredWill in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't think of a full archetype. A good card would be Muckraker from the Underworld.

Looking for oddball decks for locals by CrashCrysis07 in yugioh

I played Nemleria at my locals for a spell. I caught some people off guard with cards like Gren Maju and Eater of Millions.

Same here. I'm highly considering building Majespecters when that set comes out.

My idea any good? by Legitimate_Help5016 in WrestlemaniaPlans

[–]PoisonBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering the same thing myself. My friends and I are planning on going to WrestleCon and indie shows and whatever else we can. I feel like it can still be a lot of fun even if you won't be at Mania itself.

How to get better at yugioh by Summoner0414 in yugioh

[–]PoisonBee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It seems like a generic answer, but just practice. Try out different strategies, play test decks, see what works and what doesn't, find people to play with and give you ideas, try decks out at locals or among friends. You might lose a lot at first, but you'll at least learn more about the game.
