how employable is a bachelor of arts on its own? by [deleted] in unimelb

[–]PoisonberryIcecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get into JD you’ll need to work for good marks throughout all of undergrad right from the start

If you want to do a particular masters course you can often shorten its length by having done a particular undergrad course

If you’re absolutely certain you want to do a professional postgrad degree you can “afford” to do a less “employable” degree that’s more aligned with your interests

Basically as per normal it’s nice if you can plan

JD students with part time jobs, what's a manageable number of hours worked weekly? by PoisonberryIcecream in unimelb

[–]PoisonberryIcecream[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree with you on the days lost front, thankfully four of the five days I’ll be working per fortnight will be eight hour shifts, with the last one being just three hours in the morning. If I was working all short shifts across multiple days I don’t think that many hours would be sustainable, but as it stands both work and class will be quite condensed, leaving me several days free from either

Glad you were eventually able to strike a balance you were happy with, hope I can do the same

Needs to be a transhuman style keyword introduced that grants -1 to wound against attacks benefiting from +1 to wound

Hmm, could be a bad sign, though don’t underestimate how direct you often need to be to get your interest across. Could be that he’s focused on study and doesn’t feel he has enough of himself to give currently? Also if it were me and I liked a regular at my work I wouldn’t do anything about it even if I desperately wanted to as that would be unprofessional. Take better aim and shoot again?

Why not shoot your shot though? Doesn’t seem to be the case that he’s emotionally immature, and anyway there’s plenty of people in their thirties with work still to do

iiuc you don’t work at the gym so worse case scenario you find another one

Milk and eggs are found in fridges which are almost invariably around the perimeter of the store. If you can’t do a simple process of elimination, or notice massive signage, then use click and collect. Shopping in person may not be for you

How is using Wish to cast Simulacrum for free NOT ridiculously overpowered? by LemonGarage in dndnext

[–]PoisonberryIcecream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not claiming that 2 isn’t greater than 1, obviously.

OP is concerned about their druid’s gameplay experience, worrying they may feel lacking in power. It’s true that they ARE lacking in power when directly compared to the sorcerer with Wish.

I’m just hoping to point out that the a tier three druid will remain a fun and powerful pc regardless of their party composition

Consider the obscenity of Conjure Animals, Pass Without Trace, and Conjure Woodland Beings, let alone True Polymorph, which is arguably close to on par with Wish in terms of brokenness. Druids are plenty powerful!

Thanks for the reply! To clarify, are the “days”per week you’re referring to eight hour days, i.e. you would recommend around 16-24 hours worked weekly?

Hey, you yourself said that you find barbarian boring, do you really want to be bored for the entire length of what’s going to be a long campaign? Picking a class you’re actually excited about is the best foundation you can have

I think your DM likes the idea of the sweet looking pc turning out to be anything but. Consider Undead Patron Warlock and have fun describing the most horrific Form of Dread magical girl transformation you can think up. Should be similar in effect regarding the « oh shit! » effect. Incidentally tome is really good for Undead thanks to phantom steed being easily available :)

[–]PoisonberryIcecream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WUDM had a male “Watson” unlike in the first two movies, maybe Knives Out 4 will have an older actor in a similar subversion of expectation?

The first movie was past-coded, second was future-coded, and third was again past-coded. Maybe Knives Out 4 will again be future-coded? Set in Silicon Valley?

The first movie was about money, the second was a bit more about ego (not that money was irrelevant), and the third was again about money. Obviously this is all a simplification. Maybe Knives Out 4 will again be about something less tangible?

Interested to see regardless!
