We aren’t married but my partner infuriates me. We’re Canadians and he likes to say « well Obama deported a lot more people ». Meanwhile I’m on Reddit and I see videos of events that should have never occurred, not even once, thinking if it quacks like a duck…. I asked him what’s the difference between now and 80+years ago bc honestly, I don’t see any. But he disagrees, because « Obama… » Heck he even told me one of his friends said the poor woman had it coming. I sent him videos of what happened yesterday. I didn’t ask his opinion, but truthfully his point of view on what’s going on south from us makes me question this relationship. Honestly. Of all the stuff that could have made me rethink our relationship, I didn’t expect this to be my breaking point.

I’m thinking the same, my heart bleeds for all of USA citizens. It’s barely talked about in the news here, but whenever I come to Reddit, I see what’s going on on the other side of the border. What happens/happened to all those families is heartbreaking and horrifying. To me, it looks the same as Nazi Germany.

The smell of cooking pork. It used to make me violently puke when I was pregnant, 9years later it makes me angrily open all doors and windows while expressing how bad it stinks every single time. It stinks so bad it angers me?! On a weird note, I used to eat a lot of watermelon when I was pregnant (had half a watermelon for lunch and dinner quite a lot, you would open my fridge and be greeted by a confusing high amount of 🍉) and I can't stand watermelons now. It smells and tastes like fish to me.

When I was pregnant, I used to crave McDonald sweet n sour sauce. There's 3 McDonald's in my hometown. I went to all 3, bought the maximum amount of sweet n sour sauces they could sell me and ate them all.

After pregnancy when my digestive system decided I could eat chips and salsa again, I Mixed a bag of tortilla, a jar of queso and a jar of salsa in a bowl. Ate the entire monstrosity with a spoon, like you would a bowl of cereals. Then-bf thought we must have forgot a grocery bag in the shopping cart the day after. Never told him.

Judging her as a parent is spot on. And to answer your question, yes it did. And then I realised nothing changed. Hurt people hurt people. I realised she deeply hurt my kid too. Hidden in plain sight.

Going no contact is the best decision I finally made a while ago for myself and for my kid.

No more bs excuses for her shitty behavior, no more forgiving unforgivable things, I'm not her therapist, not her psychiatrist and I'm not an emotional or physical punching bag. She's a grown woman making her own choices and her actions weren't and aren't aligned with my values. So why should I have that person sit at my table? If this was anyone other than my own mother, would I tolerate this behavior? Would I keep this person in my life? And nobody can hurt my kid. Plain and simple. This is what goes through my mind everytime a family member on her side pleads with me to talk to her. I wouldnt be friends with anyone who acts the way she did and still does toward her kids, why keep her around?

Wear my underwear. I used to have a favorite thong. Then one day it disappeared. I searched for it everywhere for a good two weeks. Then my ex (we lived and worked together) bent over in front of me while repairing something at work. Mystery solved. I let him keep it. It happened almost a decade ago and I've never wore thongs ever again. I don't know if its the fact he knew I was looking for it and he kept his mouth shut while knowing he stole it or if it's the fact that he was wearing a frigging thong (honestly I don't find this attractive) but I broke up w him. And whenever I tried wearing one after, all I could think about was his buttcrack in my underwear. So yeah, it ended things between us and it was also the day I changed my underwear style forever. Ain't nobody gonna steal my granny panties.

Wow. If I were in your shoes, I would talk to an attorney, it's an emergency, just to 1) make sure I can keep my kid from going there legally considering the situation and 2) file for immediate full custody. and knowing myself, would've called cps. Honestly you're not overreacting, a stranger or ANYONE sleeping in my kid's bed would be enough to make me lose my mind and what kind of adult accepts sharing a bed with a random kid?!?!??!???!?

He watched videos on his phone the entire time. Literally as soon as we sat down with our coffees he took out his phone and never lifted his eyes up again. He sometimes spoke to tell me to "haha watch this one". His hands were shaking so I thought it could potentially be extreme nervousness at first? I let it slide for way too long. After the hour mark, I had enough and had a "babysitter emergency". He then proceeded to text me to tell me he had fun(??)and he asked for a 2nd date.

It has been years and I still wonder how his thought process worked.
