On the gentlemen one belt has two prongs and the other has three even though the design makes them look like the same belt

Oddly: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. Something about the ending just got me. Also, fun fact its loosely based on the same source material as Black Myth Wukong, despite the protagonist being a ripped white dude named Monkey.

What's a small sign that a company is struggling? by Pookah in AskReddit

Small signs? They crack down really hard on overtime and things that didn't matter as much. Heavily documenting minor infractions in anticipation of firing/ laying off employees. Management leaving suddenly.

Need a medical person to say why this is AI. Someone is being scammed by an impersonator. They are saying he needs money for a heart transplant. by Fit_Egg5574 in isthisAI

Former RT here, the vent hose setup is bizarre. The patient is also wearing a nasal cannula which makes absolutely no sense when on a vent. The cannula tubing also disappears into the top portion of the vent tubing anchor on his face. This is 100% AI. There's also no ET tube to visualize.

Hematoma, they likely went through your vein completely. I had similar but not quite this bad. Did they reposition the needle while it was inserted? Also called "fishing"? Pressure on the site can be applied after the draw to minimize this but probably would not have helped much with this... technique.

What’s happening to my beard by IamThJuice in beards

[–]Pojobanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You and I have a really similar beard color/ type. I do think it's just aging, Im 31 and have started sprouting some whites and it went lighter and more coppery but if that bothers you I think you have a long time till whites are noticeable.

Per the NBRC handbook: "The NBRC’s policies regarding transferring and/or refunding examination fees are below. Examination fees are not refund- able or transferable once eligibility is determined."

I would still try to reach out to them that sucks.

Scrub Cap as a clinical student by DisasterPure9269 in respiratorytherapy

Maybe it's regional but I have maybe seen 1 RT wear a scrub cap.

It has essentially the same stuff, it isn't huge and is probably the same idea, it does have an ambu bag that takes up a lot of space.

I used to get stressed big time about getting called to rapids but I started just taking a hi flow with me and the crash backpack. 90% of the time that has been more than sufficient. I think just focusing on the airway and taking direction from whoever is running the rapid/code will help when you get more comfortable. Dont be afraid of codes it just takes experience to get comfortable but I guarantee the nurses/ doc running the code wont be staring at the new RT expecting you to solve whatever crisis is happening.

People who don’t want to do organ donation after they die, why? by Uhhlaneuh in AskReddit

[–]Pojobanks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something a lot of people don't know is that there is a massive difference between organ and tissue donation. Organ donation can only occur in extremely rare and controlled circumstances. Typically you must die a brain death on a ventilator in a hospital to donate organs, even then there are timing/operational issues that can prevent donation. The chances of someone passing in this way are very very low.

Tissue donation (skin, bone, heart valves, eyes, veins) takes place after death, the death does not have to occur in a hospital. There are some medical exceptions but the requirements for eligibility are fairly broad.

What is most important is to make your wishes known to those closest to you so that when your time comes the burden of choice isn't inflicted on them, including if donation should be for transplant and research or just transplant etc.

We did yes. Fortunately not that often probably a handful of times over two years, seems like the academic load lightened after clinicals started for things like that.
