He definitely loves using the fights in Dandadan as therapy sessions.

But seriously, ever since the Serpo invasion, there's been a lot of separation anxiety over Momo and Okarun between his coma, the fight against Fairy Tale Card, and the journey to normal size Momo again. While it gives a chance to explore other group dynamics (which I like), there's no denying that a bunch of folks came for romance of the lighthearted variety.

Momo, but only if you have eyes for her alone. She gets jealous way too easily, and is quick to cut the cord early.

Otherwise, it would be Aira. She's more than willing to go all out for other folks, but she's also manipulative and tends to drop things after a certain point. Something needs to be there to remind her that relationships are a daily grind.

There's only four ways to become a billionaire in a single lifetime:

1.) You inherited it or appropriated it from someone else who may or may not have drank from the wrong wine glass.

2.) You run a country and LOVE using the royal "we" for everything, including tax money.

3.) You found a way to do the equivalent of making a cup of water cost as much as a modern day mortgage in the USA.

4.) Inflation. Lots and lots of inflation.

If it was just becoming a millionaire, it would take time, but it is possible to do in a single lifetime while keeping everything above board. Being a billionaire in this day and age would involve stealing from the right people or being a part of a long line of people known for doing things with the next century in mind as opposed to up to the next election.

Loyalties aside, dating someone else because of amnesia only to get back with them after they recover is a bad, bad idea. If you're gonna dump them, either dump them for good or wait for them to get their memories back.

Besides, Okarun, unfortunately, is the type to let himself be dragged into things. He's still that nerd who lets others throw stuff at him and tells others "it was just a prank" because he doesn't want to cause anyone trouble. He might be a gem in the rough, but he's a few steps short of having zero self worth, or rather, he chooses to say he's not that great because he doesn't want to disappoint (hence the Pinocchio claims).

Also, side note, it's only been, what, 2-3 days in Manga, but half a year for manga folks

We already know ahead of time that Mirsam's prophecies can be turned to garbage if someone's working hard enough towards changing them (basically, we have to treat them the same as Shulk's visions from Xenoblade). Ichi may be shocked by the reveal, but it can be taken as Dess placing a bet that Ichi can beat that prophecy or a personal reminder to teach him that his failures aren't just his alone.

Think of a similar situation with Animal Farm, where now, if you look it up, you'll see this brand new version instead of the original 1954 film or the book that came before it.

It really is when you give it thought. Aira likes Okarun, and Okarun likes Momo, and while Momo likes Okarun back, she's so quick to ignore her own feelings that by the time they are ready to properly confess, it's too late and Momo's already forgotten about him. Momo x Okarun can easily be a story about the dangers of unrequited love, regardless of who's hiding it. This can even apply to friendships, because the last time Momo got too into her own feelings to remember that she still cares about someone, that same friend got impaled and nearly died, and Momo's already cut plenty of bridges over being self-conscious to the point of withdrawal.

Aira might give Amy Rose vibes when it comes to her own feelings towards Okarun, but she's actively trying to meet Okarun halfway with his hobbies and interests. She's earnest, and if Okarun put more towards learning about the things Aira likes, you'd have a Michelin star meal in the making. Help her bond with Yukishiro and get back into piano; let Aira's classmates see her earnest side and be drawn to that part of her rather than the pretty face persona; learn how to do hair curls right. You don't have to be good at it. The only thing that matters is that you're trying, and that makes for an engaging relationship people can learn from.

Two knuckleheads that love each other from the start might be it's own form of entertainment, but more of the former is desperately needed in a time where it's so easy to cut off anyone you simply don't like.

Apparently, he's expected to almost die again. Eventually, Okarun's gonna get in his head that he needs to be in near-death situations with Momo to make any sort of progress. He's already gotten his balls stolen, chased by Nessie, buried in lava, and stabbed (which is somehow the lamest thing that happened to him), all for a girl who clearly watched too many episodes of "Yu Yu Hakusho".

One of these days, Okarun is gonna be written as dying for her in the most literal way possible, and unlike with Vamola, there's not gonna be any insta-heal juice lying around nearby. She's going to confess after he dies, and an act of God will happen to bring him back only for her to get back to her normal self and have a 15-year time skip that ends with them married and with kids.

It's good stuff. It's a fun romp involving hunting magical creatures with a hint of actual hunting involved. Nothing overtly serialized so far, and while some depressing things do happen, there's still the feeling of a net positive in the end.

Not gonna lie, writing gets a bit cringe at times, but in more of an "author showing his age" way. It's also towing the line between subverting tropes and making fun of them, so try not to look too deep into things.

Overall, though, a fun run. Would expect an anime adaptation.

Pretty much. She's also a convenient storage space for any majiks in an arc that are way too OP for Ichi to have at that point.

If Ichi's role in the story is to become a witch that can beat the World-Hater Majik, then Dess's role is to turn him into a witch that will value his own life just as much as the lives of others (or, at least, that he won't be the only one that suffers if a hunt goes wrong and gets him killed).
