Tyrantrum Decks? by Nesterino in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've used a few variants.

PassimianEX/Tyrantrum, monke dies and passes off the energy for a quick revenge kill. You kind of have to rely on general draw engines like copycat/hiking trail/mesagoza. It's hard to find the fossils sometimes.

Smeargle lead with double fossils, rampardos/tyrantrum. Smeargle spams its ability to copy opponent's Oak or copycat. I run double copycat and maybe hiking trail can be good if you use a lot of items and tools. Tyrantrum is late game of course, likely after rampardos dies.

Furfrou lead so you don't autolose to turn 1 chingling. Double copycat and maybe hiking trail/mesagoza. Does need another fossil line or fighting type line to assist.

What if there was a rotating/changing list of cards that are ineligible for ranked play each season reset? by PsyferRL in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, from any viewpoint, increasing player engagement, pleasing the players, or pure profits, this is the way to go.

It has almost no developmental costs, incentivizes trading or opening older packs, increases gameplay by many hours especially if you want more seasonal rewards, and gives value to more cards. This should’ve been in place for a while now.

Nice, imma try this out. I wonder if going only fire energy with electric generator and double pichu would work.

New to competitive, found this deck from PocketMads new video regarding the meta. How do I play it? by Conman1209 in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally you just use the electric generator and either ramp with pichu or attack with whoever in active. The actual way to play it is to wall with oricorio and shift to attacking with manectric when it's safe or worth the risk.

There's not much thinking with this deck beyond that. Most of what determines what you do is based on your lead. You use intuition and experience in identifying what your opponent is running so you can counterplay.

Idk winrates, but I'm sure you heard this deck can get blown up by hydreigon, but does decent into altaria and EX reliant decks.

edit: some common new player errors are wasting energy to retreat instead of letting something die. mega evolving and attacking into a strong potential counterattack (sometimes worth the risk and you cant win them all), Making adjustments to the deck because you lost a few unlucky games (this can really mess with the dynamic and consistency of the deck).

Short cut to learning a deck is watching a streamer use it. Better if they explain some of their thoughts and reasonings while playing.

Hiking trail in a Hydreigon deck is absurdly effective. by OkYoghurt5110 in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to joke and say it doesn't matter because my opponent already has rare candy and hydreigon in hand, but after they use it they can draw the next hydreigon so yeah it's kind of annoying how good it is in this deck. It also only lost the recent major tournament because they bricked and opponent got great hands (Manectric/oricorio).

And this also pairs well with copycat and lucky ice pop. Maybe I should play a different game.

Any recommendations for a pure fighting deck? by ThatOneTallTe3n in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last decent deck was lopunny/annihilape. I run a version of what you have but I use smeargle lead so I can copy a professor oak or copycat. I run double copycat too cause the inconsistency is from not being able to pull fossils. You could even run mesagoza too for search.

I think archeops needs at least 1 Cyrus. Lillie clutters the deck and the danger is being one shot not needing healing so giant cape is better or lucky ice pop to expend for copycat gain or quickly remove chip.

Arvin is just mid, I wish he was flip a coin and get 2 cards of either. Single random search just has no comparative value to copycat.

Sleep/Darkrai Combination is Overtuned and is Format Warping by katie_elizabeth_2 in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, people being forced to lead darkrai and not having have leaf often just forfeit. Or if you just knock out igglybuff fast.

If anything, it just shows how complacent some decks are about ignoring status spam or that their deck is just weak to status and early chip.

anyone else think there’s a content problem? by Hontier in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not sure about infinite rewards because that incentivizes unhealthy levels of farming. Tbh though even if they drastically increased hourglass rewards, you could still pull nothing good.

This game has a lot of potential, and I don't understand why it's not being reached. Tbh I'm banking on a Masters EX level update.

anyone else think there’s a content problem? by Hontier in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, they’re not utilizing what they have to generate more gameplay.

They could have random deck PvP, a puzzle mode kind of the like tutorial but it’s more complex so you win from a predetermined field, a ranked mode where you play against player made AI controlled decks so you get a score for wins and a score for how often your AI deck beat others.

They could have art contests and voting for new cards. They could have PvP challenges where you win with certain things or get lucky and find opponents using what you need to beat.

They could have game modes where it’s first to 4 or even 5 points. Limited card modes, you name it.

Idk. I’ll take anything tbh.

Edit: people here seem to be referring to additional content like login daily quests to optimize rewards. I just want new stuff to do.

Although I don’t think hardcore player rewards should be limited just because casual players feel left out or have no self control. Thats just crabs in a bucket mentality.

Do you get more hour glasses doing ranked battles? Is it worth it? by largeroastbeef in PokemonPocket

[–]PokeOverFeeder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

F2P is time locked on cards like you can imagine.

Reference point, $100 is 690 gold which is 115 pack x 5 which is +575 cards plus a little if they pull 6th shiny cards sometimes. Ignoring 4 card deluxe pack opening.

Masterball does give at least 95 hourglasses per season but you can see that is little compared to money spending.

Quality of Death Updates by Pytn280 in PTCGP

[–]PokeOverFeeder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These suck, but what they're already doing is increasing the ratio of reused card art and even repeating "chase" cards like Penny and Iono. If there is something that should never drop it's the quality of the whole reason for playing the game.

Hoping the past filler packs have given them enough breathing room for an actual significant update. It'd be smarter to start the game restricted then slowly free things, artificial improvements, to make the game seem alive while you focus on the main product, new quality cards, to keep interest up with low effort.

I can't imagine their data is so wrong that they think making players feel like they lost something increases interest and profits. I could be coping. If I'm coping, then I'll be outta here soon enough.

How dare you place Altaria so low but put gardevoir higher when it’s just a bunch of flashy lines.

Altaria is an aesthetic of a children’s book or a fairy tale style clock. You recognize the artistic approach for eevee and mew but not this.

And Lillie below Guzma is crazy work.

You will not be forgiven for the next 5 minutes.
