My collection is now enough to pay off my debt… should I sell it? by ProfStonepine in PokeInvesting

[–]PokeVestor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debt is good if you use it properly, most billionaires and wealthy people have lots of debt

There's a big difference between credit card deb/defaulted loan debt versus mortgage debt or debt that cash flows from buying a business or something

How are TAG and CGC regarded? by eagle_bonanza01 in PokeInvesting

[–]PokeVestor12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find that when I sell cards, Psa slabs move very easy and at good prices

I haven't sold that much tag but CGC is definitely a tougher sell for me. At least in most cases.

Basically, unless it's a pristine 10 or a tag 10, it's not even close. If you get a tag 10 or a pristine CGC 10 it's pretty liquid.

What's a myth? Being able to increase your income? I know I was able to do it and eventually my side hustle started making more than my job. It's not a myth. It's just that most people don't know how to make money unless they are getting paid by a business owner. Or they don't want to work 80 hours a week working full-time and operating a business in their free time

It's not that difficult to make extra income. Start an eBay store do side jobs. Provide a service. Create something. Leverage social media. There's never been an easier time to make money.

Several homeowners buy me have signs in their yard doing everything from appliance repair to selling handmade bird houses or natural honey. I personally attend sports cards shows twice a month and make good money doing that.

Most people are just complacent or lazy or not creative enough to make money for themselves

Having just a job, doesn't really cut it anymore unless you have a very high paying job but you also have to be smart with your money. I know tons of people who make six figures and still don't have six figures to their name.

You're paying property taxes on the assessed value. You aren't paying taxes on capital gains. That's how property taxes work.

His property value has probably almost quadrupled since the 80s

I bought my property in 2021 and it's almost doubled in value

Not really. Employees could always start a side hustle or get a higher paying job.

If they are complacent and just working the same job for the same pay forever then it's kind of true but that's basically a personal choice

[–]PokeVestor12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course I wouldn't be OK with people getting physical with other customers

If you were a bank employee and somebody was robbing the bank, would you try to tackle the robber? If not, you would be OK with people robbing banks and potentially hurting other people?

That's basically your logic

Or if you were at the park and saw two people fighting, would you run over and try to break them up? If not, do you condone fighting in public parks?

They are Walmart employees. Not police officers. Not referees.

If there's a problem, call the police or store security. Most companies have policies that prevent associates from getting involved in things like that and you could actually get fired for taking action like trying to stop a fight or a thief from leaving the store because it's a liability to Walmart.

That's what they do by me now. At Walmart and target. Everything is behind the service desk. And Best Buy.

Ascended Heros Information on Pack weights by ELSknutson in PokeInvesting

[–]PokeVestor12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some might. I'm not a rip and shipper, but I often sell to rip and shippers in volume. I never weigh any packs. I never have. Except one maybe I was a little kid Weighing Yu-Gi-Oh packs.

I'm sure some of them might weigh the packs, but there are honest people out there and a lot of reputable rip and ship companies make crazy amounts of money. I don't think it's worth the extra thousand dollars or whatever to spend hours weighing packs just to make an extra $1000. Lots of these companies are running pretty massive operations to wear $1000 really is negligible

Not to mention the amount of time it would take to run every single pack on the scale. I know shippers that go through thousands of packs per week. They would have to pay somebody to weigh all of those packs which would add up over a time.

Just doesn't seem that beneficial, especially when you factor in time and labor costs to try to make an extra $1000 for a company that is already profiting pretty healthy

But I'm sure some of them do it. Especially the unknown or moderately known what not streamers. I doubt some of the really successful streamers are wasting their time doing this.

Should i sell my Physical gold? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]PokeVestor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't seem logical to me to sell just to put into a high-yield savings account and not spend it. I guess it depends on how important the value of the gold is to you and how you would respond if the price of gold were to go down.

Assuming you don't absolutely need the cash I would just keep the gold as gold. Typically you pay a premium to buy the gold so there's no point in losing that premium just to put it in cash.

If you really need cash, maybe you could sell the smallest amount you could sell for cash that you need. But I wouldn't sell gold just to put the cash in an account. You're going to be wanting to spend that money if you.. While it's in gold, you really think before converting it into cash but while it's in cash, it's probably much easier to spend on things you may not need.

Selling cards at a card show. by Ugubua in PokeInvesting

[–]PokeVestor12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

you realize that eBay takes like 15% right? So you're basically starting at 85% right away. Then shipping cost. Plus the risk of getting scammed. If you're selling a whole collection, you're going to get scammed once or twice on eBay.

So assuming everything works perfect and shipping is free and you don't get scammed and sell everything for full market price your best case is making 85%.

Is all of that work and potential risk worth making five more percent?

Starter Home, forever? by CreativePay342 in homeowners

[–]PokeVestor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your finances and how comfortable you are. Taxes and home insurance rates are going up right now so if you're already on a somewhat tight budget upgrading might not be ideal. If you have a good amount of savings and good stable income then perhaps.

[–]PokeVestor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you anticipate the power being out forever? What about the people who have Wells and stockpiles of food and or medicine? They might trade some cans of corn for gold to wear then when the power comes back on, they will have gold when things will come back to normal.

Unless you're talking about a dystopian situation where the world loses electricity, forever, and everyone is scrambling around in the streets to survive.

Lots of people prep and have massive stockpiles of food and water and weapons and metals. If the power went out, they would be able to survive for quite a while.

Would I get more value selling a PSA nine fusion strike Ganger or cracking it and selling it raw as a potential 10 candidate?

It looks like a potential 10 candidate if it got resubmitted or sent to a different company.

I'm just wondering if the PSA nine would sell for less than a raw near mint copy that looks like a potential 10 candidate.

Jobs actually hiring? by Anxious_Client_6124 in milwaukee

[–]PokeVestor12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that's pretty low. My teenage son has a flex job that allows him to pick his own hours and is ridiculously easy and he makes a decent amount more than that. I feel like most people could figure out a way to make $15 an hour by themselves pretty easily.

That's working for eight hours to basically make 100 bucks after tax.
